I'm Turning Green Book: Review and Giveaway!

Our financial crunch in this economic downfall can be tight right now, and it is a perfect time to teach our kids about being conservative with our resources. Simple things our kids can do, like turning off the light, unplugging electronics, and reusing products, teach them more than saving money~ they learn to making a positive impact on our planet's resources.
The Little Environmentalists have come out with book number 2: I'm Turning Green, in their series to educate our children about the environment and our eco-awareness. In the book, a little girl talks about all the things that she does to do her part in helping our environment. With each thing she does, part of her turns green (with her body being colored in green), and at the end of the book, she is completely green. One fact the book points out, you can save 5 gallons of water just by turning off the faucet when you brush your teeth and wash your hands! What a savings~ for the environment and our pocketbook! For $7.95, (you can purchase the book at Amazon.com) I think this book does a super job teaching kids to be more economical and earth-friendly! The book is printed environmentally friendly: 100% recycled, 100% post consumer waste, Chlorine free and environmentally friendly ink!
I reviewed the first book from The Little Environmentalists here (click link) if you would like to read about that book, or you can see the book on the The Little Environmentalists website.

We try our best to use lights as little as possible, and use natural light instead. We also teach the little one about water conservation. Thanks for the chance!

We use reusable bags when we shop. I also save items that I can repurpose or reuse. We gave Acme reusable bags for Christmas.

I've started switching over to 'Green' cleaning products as I run out of my old ones and we're starting to switch burned out light bulbs with energy saving bulbs!

We recycle everything, bring our own bags to the store, have switched all our lightbulbs, NO harsh chemical cleaners allowed in the house, turn the heat to 68 and the air to 80! (I gotta say, I don't mind putting on a sweater but during the summer it is HOT!lol)

One green thing I teach my son is to use all parts of a piece of paper...for example we use the blank side of handouts from school to color on. thanks, justicecw@hotmail.com

We are big recyclers. We also use reusable bags at the grocery store. Anytime we get a bag from the store we use that for trash instead of buying trash bags. Thanks for the chance! Looks like a great book.
