This bag has one large zippered pocket, where I keep all of Maddie's reading books, coloring books, and dolls. It also has 1 smaller zippered front pocket with insert for pencils, erasers, and smaller accessories. I love that I can keep the bag organized with this front pocket organizer. The outside of the bag has a mesh pocket to keep her sippy cup, or other water bottle.
1 side mesh pocket for holding a water bottle
2 lightly padded. The straps are padded for easy carrying and the interior is fully lined.

I love the picture of the ladybug on the front! It looks like it was just painted on there. Ladybug Backpack from Crocodile Creek meets or exceeds safety specifications set forth by ASTM International.

Oh my gosh I need that bag for Ashlynn! She is having a lady bug bday party this month and wants a lady bug piggy bank. Ok you need a story.. Well today I started homeschooling again! Anna and Ashlynn did great. Anna learns to read this year and Ashlynn is learning her letters. Its so fun to teach our kids.. and I know you know what I mean.
I was pretty nervous about going to school for the first day, I was afraid I wouldn't know anyone. It turns out my class was full of the kids I played with all the time. So me being nervous was completely unfounded!
My daughter loves ladybugs :D

My dad used to pick me up from school on my first day, then we would walk home, making a stop at the ice cream shop on the way. It was always a really special afternoon, because my dad always worked til just about dinner time, and took the time off to hear all about my 1st day. Now my husband picks my daughter up at school on her first day for their own walk home!

well a few years ago I made lunch at night..ham and cheese, and cheese sandwiches and packed them in the boxes the next morning...my son came home and said mom thanks for the joke at lunch....I thought what joke- I made all his sandwiches leaving the cheese wrapper on..where was my brain? The other kids did not mention and garbage truck had come that morning so I wondered did the other kids eat the covering or did I take it off of thiers?
My back-to-school memory was definitely when we got home! My mom was always waiting on the bus to arrive and always had fresh-baked goodies waiting for us. Whether it be cookies, brownies, or a dish of cobbler, it always made me feel great that my mom thought about us all day.

this is realy sweet it would make a grate dipper bag as well thanks
Oh my baby girl would love this lady "buddy" backpack! I flash back six years to when my oldest (now in 5th grade) had her first day of Kindergarten. I was NOT going to be that mom and cry. I held it together so well while I hung out at the school, but as I pushed my son (then 2) home in the stroller I BAWLED my eyes out. It was so hard to let go!
This is so cute. My daughter just started kindergarten and I'm sure she would be thrilled to take this to school. One of my favorite back to school memories is of my oldest on his first day of preschool. Let's just say we didn't get out of the door without him holding our legs, screaming and gagging while all the other kids and parents watched us in horror. So not funny at the time but now he's in fifth grade and we can sit back and laugh.
Thanks!!
Please allow me to give this bag to my five year old niece Jima who LOVES Kindergarten. My favorite back to school memory is all the adorable clothes my mother handmade for me.
I was very scared going to school for the first time. I thought that the teacher was going to ask all kinds of math related problems. So in my head I was saying 100 + 100 = 200...and so on.
Once I realized that the only thing that she asked was our names, I was pretty disappointed. I guess, deep down I wished she would ask us hard questions so that I would show off.

This is so adorable and would be perfect for my little ladybug.
I remember my first day of school simply because my Mom took my picture every year. It was the only day of the year that I looked absolutely perfect. Perfect hair, perfect lunch box, perfect clothes, perfect notebook.
Thanks for another great giveaway!

My favorite memory was when my son went to kindergarten for the first time. He was always too smart for his own good. He came home and announced he was never going back because they hadn't taught him to read the very first day! He taught himself to read long before the rest of the class learned. :)
When my oldest daughter started kindergarten, she was asked to complete a test that included identifying shapes, writing her name, and drawing images based on a prompt. The teacher called me in after the exam and told me that Julianne was the first student to draw a man with wings when asked to show something that can fly. Today, Juli is a college student and she has never stopped thinking "outside of the box."
I have a picture of my husband(given to me by his grandmother) of his first day at school. It was his first day of kindergarten and the pictures title is (First day Tears) he is standing there wiping tears it so sad,
I remember how sad my son was to leave me the first day of school. I'm remember how sad I was the next day when he said "see ya" and got on the bus.
I remember my sons first day of kindergarden. He was fine, I was a basketcase. Of course he was fine, but I balled like a baby.

I am so glad that my kids love school. It makes it so much easier to send them off.
One memory I have when I think of back to school was the morning when I was running to get on the bus and a neighbor's dog started chasing me and I fell face forward in the snow. Everyone on the bus had a good laugh at my expense!

I'm always nervous going back to school, but it normally turns out okay. I have a first day back for a week straight. I have different groups of students for the entire first week. UGH! My daughter would love this.
I have your button!
What comes to mind is all those "first day of school" photos that my mom took ... and my kids will say the same thing one day!
Today is my kids first day of school. What a great giveaway to start out the new school year.
My Mom had made the family a special cake each year for our first day of school. We always looked forward to coming home on that first day to see what kind of cake it would be. I continued this tradition with our kids and I even go as far as making a school related cake. In the past years, I've made cakes in the shape of a school bus, books and this year I'll be making a box of crayons.
Thanks so much.
I love the bag!! My funny story is that I never made it to my first day of kindergarten. my uncle was going away to college at the same time I was starting school and he told me that when you go to school you would not be home until the holidays. I cried and was so hysterical the teacher told my my to take me home!!
Before school kids would congregate on the playground, and then when it was time to go in, students had to line up according to year. I remember how fun it was to line up for the very first time in my new year!

My daughter would love that backpack! The story I remember is that my second grade teacher was named Mrs. Valentine. So my mother went out and bought a blouse covered in little hearts (this was in the 80's after all) to wear on the first day of school. I have 2 younger sisters who also had Mrs. Valentine when they got to 2cnd grade and, yes, they wore that same shirt on their first days of school. I always wondered if Mrs. Valentine recognized it from year to year.
Just subscribed to your feed - thanks!
my favorite memory of school was how special my mom always made the first day!
we got a special breakfast and fresh baked cookies were on the table when we got home!
then we would sit together and look thru all the paperwork i had to bring home for her to fill out and we did it together!
sounds lame, but it stays in my memory!

our son went to kindergarten the first day with no problem but that evening announced it was fun but he didn't want to go any more. He wanted to stay home with mom.

I remember being so excited for the first day of school each year (at last for the first 4 or 5 years, that is) because my mom would always make me a beautiful new dress over the summer. I would put that new dress on and she would take my picture and then my dad would walk me to school (he always stayed home from work on the first day to walk with me). So much simpler back then. But at least now the kids have uniforms and that is a blessing (I hate shopping!).
Thanks for the chance to win your great giveaway!

This is so cute - I call my daughter "my little ladybug" so I would love this for her. My favorite back to school memory is that my mom always came to pick me up on the first day after school. She worked, so normally I took the school bus, but on the first day it was always a special time to talk about the new year!
My little ones aren't in school quite yet, but I remember loving to get all my school supplies organized and my backpack filled and ready to go. Other than that I just remember being nervous about new teachers and classes (that wasn't so fun, though.)

We start pre-school at the end of the month...We'll see what kind of stories we get! I remember always missing the bus the first day of school and running after it! Hopefully my kids are more punctual that me!
OFF TOPIC...For some reason I think I read somewhere you live in Minnesota? I'm on the northern end of the suburbs, but that means NOTHING to you if I'm wrong and you're not from here!
I put my daughter's hair in pigtails for her first day last year--she was so adorable and had such fun!

My son is having a hard time adjusting to kindergarten. He complains about going every morning and gets teary eyed. He has always been curious about when my husband and I went to college. I think he likes the idea of living with other kids away from home. So, I reminded him that he has to go to kindergarten so that some day he can go away to college. He looked at me and asked, "Mommy, can't I just skip kindergarten and go to college instead?"
laylarenee[at]cfl.rr.com
it's so cute, my husband said that he was closer to tears than my son on his first day of pre-school.
My mom sent me to my first day of 1st grade sporting a royal blue flap backpack with a worm in an apple embroidered on it. I got teased mercilessly until I came home crying and my parents had to order me a new backpack. It was so bad I carried a plain old tote bag until my beautiful red LL Bean one came in the mail. Then I used that one for years! I've only ever had two LL Beans for my entire education, including college. They make quality stuff.

My favorite "back-to-school" memory is back to school shopping. My mom always gave us a budget and when it ran out, it ran out. Taught us the value of money and how to make it go as far as possible!
I fell up the stairs on the first day of school my sophmore year.

I am obsessed with school supplies. I remember as a kid that I couldn't wait to go shopping for school supplies. Even now as an adult it makes me excited to go to the office supply stores. I guess that is the teacher in me. =)

My favorite back to school memory was always going shopping and picking out my supplies. I loved picking out my backpack and lunch box. Plus all the folders and other fun stuff. I always chose something that fit my personality.
My daughter,Rosa will love that backpack. She is in the special ed class and she was terrified about going to a new school. She did not want to go but......She did.She discovered that the new school had the same old friends.

My mom told me that my little brother really was not excited about starting school in Kindergarten. We lived 5 blocks from the school. She brought him in her first day and when she got back to the house and walked in he had beat her home. He ran all the way back home and said he was done with school! From there on out she had to make sure the teacher had his hand to make sure he didn't run all the way back home!

My twin and I must have been in second grade. It was really snowy outside and we had no bus service for some reason and my parents had to go to work so they asked my no-nonsense grandfather to walk us. He walked sooo fast and wouldn't say a word, my sister and I had to run to keep up with him. I remember we were wearing our smurf boots that fit over the shoes and the snow was so deep that my sisters boot got stuck and she couldnt get it out. My grandfather was running ahead so we quickly just took my sisters stocking foot out and ran to catch up. Two blocks later, when we finally reached the school I took off my boots and gave one to my sister to wear that day instead of just a wet sock. When my grandfather noticed he screamed at us for not telling him but then he started laughing and ran back to get the boot. It was a family joke for a really long time but a really nice school memory and a memory of my grandfather.

My favorite Memory is when I was in a senior in High School and my brother was a freshman. It was really cool to be at school together right before I left for college.
Thanks!

My parents always took our picture as we went out the door on the first day of school. One I remember so clearly, my brother starting 1st grade, his hair all ratty and his shoes in his hands. Typical! Always running late and a bit disheveled.
This bag is positively precious.
My favorite back to school memory is the night before....when the anticipation kept me from sleeping. I would lay awake thinking about the days to come. It was such a sweet, fun time!!
My favorite back to school memory is the changing of the weather to crisp fall. Mornings feel more cozy and Halloween is just around the corner!
I love that Mom used to let me watch cartoons on Friday mornings as I ate my breakfast before school -- usually the classic Looney Tunes -- don't make 'em like that anymore! :)

Such a cute backpack! My story...my mother used to walk me to school and then go to work. She used to carry my backpack for me will we got to the schoolyard. One day she forgot to give me my backpack and she got all the way to work before she realized she was still carrying it! Thankfully she did not work far away and was able to get it back to me.
On the third day of kindergarten this year, at pickup time, my daughter ran screaming back up the hall, yelling "I want to STAY!"

Hi, My cousin Larry and I only lived one block apart while growing up. We both started kindergarten together. There was only one problem, Larry could tie his shoes and I couldn't. We sat on my basement stairway and I tried and tried to tie my shoes. Eventually, I ended up crying! Good old Larry persisted with me and I did learn to tie my shoes. We walked together every day to Kindergarten. Thanks for a wonderful chance to win the adorable Ladybug Backpack. I know a little special someone who would really enjoy this bag. Thanks, Cindi

I remember I couldn't wait to start kindergarten! I argued with my mom over her walking me to school on the first day. I didn't want to be embarrassed showing up with my mom, like I was some kind of baby! Now my kids have started school and are just as independent as I was. No seperation anxiety in this family!

I remember when my son started kindergarten. He was such a happy little boy at home and didn't really have any interest in going off to school. When he got off that bus that first day, it was the cutest little thing to see him come running as fast as his little legs could carry him. He couldn't get up to the door by me fast enough! He just wrapped himself around my legs and gave me a huge hug!

We are homeschooling Parker due to his medically fragile sate.
But for our story:
How about the fact that we are doing a unit on bugs.....focusing on ladybugs! We've been reading books on ladybugs, counting ladybugs, and having fun with a ladybug puppet to help Parker learn the sign for 'ladybug'!
This backpack would be perfect to load up Parker's stuff for trips to the doctor and such!

My mom always got us a new picture and took a picture of us on the deck before we left for school. After school we always took another picture next to the school sign
I could definitely use this for my little girl, Lucy. Her diaper bag has about had it, and this would be perfect for toting all of her stuff to church. She'd feel like such a big girl.
Ok - my story: I remember when I started Kindergarten. My parents had bought me a CareBears lunch box, complete with matching thermos. We ate lunch outside the first day of school because it was so nice outside. I finished my drink in my thermos, and decided that I would fill it back up with mud, worms, and anything else that I could find. Let's just say, my Daddy was NOT happy when he emptied my thermos that day, and I never tried that again! ;) And, see, kindergarten was a LONG time ago. There are just some things you never forget.... or your parents won't LET you forget.

My favorite back to school memory is that my mom and my friend's mothers would take us all out to breakfast on that first morning. It was a special treat when we were younger and as we got older it was peace of mind because we all got to school at the same time.
I was so nervous for High School! My sister was a junior so she had the car..well when school was over, me and my friend were headed to the car and right as we got to it, my sister drove away so we ran after her and she stopped and then right when we got up to the car again she drove away..Everybody was laughing at the "poor little freshman" it was embarrassing!

I will always remember that the first thing my son said after his first day of K was "I was the only boy without a girlfriend" and he always said before this that he didn't like girls.

How cute is that backpack!!!
The best thing I remember about going back to school is not really school but my Mom always making a delicious breakfast and taking that "first day of school" picture by the front door....every year!!!!! What a tradition I have to follow!!!

I always loved going shopping for new clothes! It was my favorite part of the new school year!
I remember getting all dressed up in my new outfit, putting on my backpack and standing in the SAME spot in the back yard for a picture...every year for 12 years! Good thing we didn't move or my mother would have had a fit because her picture tradition would have been forever altered. LOL! The sad thing is, I'll probably do something similar with my daughter.

My little girl starts preschool today. It's been fun to see how excited she is to go to school. Very different than her older brother, who wanted nothing to do with it.
Once I was sitting near the wire fence on the playground and when I stood up I ripped my coudoroy koolats!!! Funny stuff! thanks, justicecw@hotmail.com
My little girl started school last week. Today we started carpool. I will never forget the look from her today as the teacher took her out of the car and I drove away.

I remember my son asking me "MoM do you want to go to school with me?"
and when I explained that I couldn't go to school because it was only for kids his age he then said " Don't be sad MoM" It was so cute~!
When I was little, we had just moved to the South from the North. I started kindergarten soon after. The accents were quite different here than where we came from. I have been told, by the first day I came home, my paents asked me what I learned that day. I said "My name is Sandy." They, of course, were puzzled. That wasn't my name! Well, Cindy pronounced deep Southern is Sandy. ;-) My parents had to explain a lot that night. hehe
My funniest back to school memory was when I had changed schools and that first day my dad drove me instead of my taking the bus. He had to get himself to work afterward so we went in his work issued car so it had a special license plate on it. That day at lunch I guess some of the kids noticed it and had talked about it because I had several come up to me at one time asking if my dad was some kind of spy. I just thought it was the funniest thing and went home and told my dad if we could go to school every morning in his spy car.

Oh, I adore that bag! If I don't win it, I may have to buy one! One of my most memorable school memories is my first day of first grade, throwing up on my teacher because of a tummy virus. Not a good way to make teacher's pet, that's for sure! LOL.
Oh I love ladybugs! My story is not so much funny as heart warming I am german and we have a tradition of giving our children the first day of school a cone filled with toys candy and what not.. sorta like the american corn of plenty I guess... so I just did one for my oldest and he came out and saw his cone and his face just LIT up and said "Wow thats for ME?!" it was a great moment ... I vividly remember my very first day of school. We lived right across the street from the school and my Mother had just given birth to my younger sister and was in the hospital. My Dad walked me across the street to school and brought me to my class and he was the only Dad there. I was thrilled that he was there with me and I know how uncomfortable he was at the time. This was long ago and Dads just didn't go to school with their kids then.
I love to get new school clothes and school supplies! Thanks! senekers@comcast.net
on her first day of school my 4-year-old princess was a spitfire, she came home and told me "I got the first time out"...just like she won a contest...kids
My favorite memory of going back to school was seeing all the friends I didn't get to see all summer.
For my first day of school my mom would make me malt-o-meal with a face made out of raisins and mini marshmallows.
This is no joke: I lived on a small farm and the bus stopped right in front-my goat Nanny followed me onto the bus, she got up those 3 steps before my mom could get her and turn her around. And I also remember for years, my mom following the school bus in her car to make sure I got there ok....
My back-to-school memory was definitely when we got home! I didn't like school too much.
erma.hurtt@sbcglobal.net
I was an evil kid growing up. I was suspended twice in kingergarden for beating up a boy...he wouldn't stop picking on me, so I made him stop. lol.
one of my favorite memories is when our home burned to the ground we go money to buy all new clothes for school no more hand me downs all fresh new clothes
I will never forget riding the school bus for the first time. Looking up those steep stairs at the smiling bus driver and getting the courage to let go of my parents hands head off to school.
I was determined to hold it together when I dropped off my twins for their first day of Kindergarten. I was doing really well, but their teacher made little diplomas for all the moms and included a poem. I barely made it to the car before the tears really started to fall. My husband had to drive me home.
My daughter ran out to the car after her first day of first grade. She was a veteran by this time, having gone to kindergarten at the same small school, so she said excitedly, "Mom, we got a new kid today with a weird name. His name is 'Jake Up.'" I said, "Honey, I think his name is probably 'Jacob.'" I still tease her about that to this day.
I remember I wore bike shorts on the first day of fourth grade. Those pictures are pretty funny now.

My favorite back to school memory was in high school. In the cafeteria, each table was "claimed" by a different clique. The dork table was the third table in the third row. I always looked forward to meeting my friends there on the first day of school.
Back to school memories of more structured days. Coming home to my mom making wonderfully warm dinners and often baking delicious desserts. My brother, sister and I were very very lucky. In a minute, I would choose to do it all again.
maggie0352@aol.com
Back to school memories. I remember them through pictures my mom would take of me about to leave the house.
On my daughter's first day at school she looked at me and said "Don't worry mommy I will help you get through school. garrettsambo@aol.com
I remember when I started first grade that I wanted to get a haircut. My hair was very long and I always wore it in pigtails. My mother wouldn't let me get a haircut so I got mad and that morning when she put them up in pigtails I went and got the scissors and cut my pigtails off at the ponytail holder. My mother made me go to school looking like that. It was horrible but I guess I deserved it. Thanks for the great contest. ecghick@yahoo.com
The best memory I have is of my cat Barnabus walking me and my siblings to school everyday and walking us home every day. He was an awesome cat and it was great to have him there right beside us.

I enjoyed seeing my friends when school started again after summer vacation.
I remember as a child, I could never sleep the night before school started because I was sooo excited! I also remember how much I loved getting new school clothes and brand new pencils and notebooks!
I remember going to target for back to school supplies.. that was always exciting :)
I remember the smell of new school supplies. Weird, I know - but I always loved (and still love) the smell of newly sharpened pencils and notebooks.
i loved the new supplies, clothes, new friends and teachers.
I remember my first grade teacher, Miss Rose. This was her first job out of college and after our class she never taught again.
