Milestone charts: A review and giveaway

Congratulations to Stacy who won a chart to help out her kids!! Please contact me with your mailing address, thanks! Thanks to all who entered!
Do you struggle with keeping a routine for your kids, or keeping them on track with a daily or night time routine? I love the new Milestone charts! Kids can learn to expect what comes next in their day or night. If they can see it, they can understand it. Plus, I like that I don't have to nag my kids to get their chores done, or make sure they do all the "bedtime" things before they go to bed! I think it is a great way to introduce reading to younger pre-school kids, too. Caleb can easily see what he needs to do, and he is at the age where he loves to "do it himself!" So, with these charts, he can do it himself. He can check things off the list, and feel like he accomplished his tasks all on his own.
I really like that the charts come with reusable stickers, so I can have the option to chance the kid's routines. Each kit comes with:
  • 1 Personalized 18” x 12” poster - Move and remove it almost anywhere without damaging walls, doors or cabinets
  • Reusable Daily/Bedtime Activity Stickers - Change and rearrange your routine as your child grows
  • 1 Erasable Marker - Change times as your child’s needs change
  • 1 Quick Start Guide - Get up and running quick and easy
The charts can be customized with your child's name printed on top. Then, they know it is their own, too. I think that helps with name recognition, too.
How the Milestone Parenting got started:
Raquel, a busy working mom, was having challenges with her daughter's schedule and trying to maintain balance in their lives. Her daughter, like many children, spouted the, "No," when asked to brush her teeth, get dressed, etc.
So,Raquel created her own tools to home make charts for her daughter using stock images of her daily activities – things like bath time, story time, brushing teeth, bedtime and even a reminder to take her asthma treatment. She cut out these images and combined them with pictures of digital and analog clocks showing the time that each activity was to be performed. Then she placed all of the pictures in her room alongside real analog and digital clocks. Her first routine was born, and that was the start of Milestone routine charts!
Would you like to win a Daily Routine kit or a Bed time Routine kit? Milestone Parenting has offered to sponsor a giveaway to one of my readers. Here are the rules:
Go to the Milestone Parenting website, and take a look at the routine charts. Then come back here and leave a comment about which chart would work best for you. This contest is open to all readers with a US mailing address. Click here to see how you can earn extra credits to win. Contest will end on August 14th, at 7:00 PM CST.

With any orders, Milestone has offered a 10% discount of the product until November 1. Just select the promotion code option when purchasing the product on their website and key in SASSY0808.

The Daily routine would be great for us! My son needs a list of things he has to do before we leave for school.

The personalized daily routine kit would definitely work better for me. My daughter, thankfully, already has her bedtime routine memorized, and she anticipates it every night. What we need to work on is setting up specific daytime activities. I think if she knows what's coming next (lunch or a nap, for example) it might be easier to get her to cooperate. We could so use the Daily Routine kit. My 11 year old has major issues with getting going in the morning. We have put lists on her door we write up, but we are constantly having to remind her to get things done. This would be perfect. She is only with us every other weekend, so making chores and normal daily routines fun makes our weekends so much smoother.

We would love the Daily Routine Chart. It would be great for my son who is just starting chores! Thanks!

The Bed time routine chart would be ideal for my little guy.
He tends to want to stay up late with the grown ups and hopefully this would be some type of order for him.

I think the Personalized Daily Routines chart would be best in this house. I'm REALLY trying to get the kids to learn not to procrastinate (you know, like their mom). I want the kids to learn that if they get their homework (it's only kindergarten but still lol) done ASAP when they get home, and then get their chores done, they have the whole rest of the night to play without anything hanging over their heads. It's skill I wish I had been taught.

I like both but I will say bedtime. If I don't get these lazy summer kids on some kind of schedule soon, we aren't gonna make it thru the first week of school. I tried to wake up early the other day (kids up super late-won't go to sleep) and 3 alarm clocks did not wake me up. I'm in trouble!!!
