Christmas time is here...

It was a great day yesterday! We went to church in the morning, and fellowship with our church family. I found out that my uncle is home after a major surgery, so that was a Praise the Lord! He had surgery on his brain to remove blood build-up from a fall he had this summer! Scary stuff! My Dad went through the same ordeal about 10 years ago. When my Dad went through the surgery, he didn't have an easy recovery, though. Anyway, I was so happy to hear that my uncle is doing great.
We came home for lunch, and made our "left-overs" into very tasty food. I had a left over roast, and neither Terry and I are big time left-over lovers....especially dry roast. Terry made up his own version of BBQ sauce, and we added some water, shredded the beef, and made a scrumptious Shredded BBQ! It was so tasty! I put mine on buttered toasted bread. Am I making you hungry? I wish there was more left-overs...isn't that funny? Well, at least I will know what to do next time we have roast. Terry is great with making new recipes from scratch.
After lunch, Caleb and Madelyn took their naps. By the way, Caleb is doing amazing with potty training! He is keeping his underwear dry at naps now! He insisted on wearing underwear to church Sunday morning. He had not been away from home in underwear yet, just pull-ups. He just keep insisting on underwear. So, we let him do it, but prepared ourselves with back-up clothing. He made it through the rides to and from church, and for the duration of church. Not only that, he made it through nap time dry, and kept it dry after nap when we went to get our Christmas tree! I am so proud of him!! I am so relieved for us, too~~
Speaking of getting our tree...it was a chillier day for it. I am so glad we got our tree earlier this year! I would love to keep it right after Thanksgiving~if possible, so we can enjoy it longer.
We have been going to the same tree farm for 3 years. It is a bit pricey, so I would like to find something cheaper. I am not a fan of the long silky needles (they are messy and the ornaments are hard to put on). I love the Scotch Fir, but those are way to pricey. So, we went with the Blue Spruce. We get the small needles, and it is very fragrant. I love it! Here are some pictures of our tree searching and cutting.

A pretty good weekend~

Friday night, we had our monthly Ladies Night Out at church. As many of you know, this is a great time of fun, games, food, and TONS of laughing! Every month we have been staying later and later into the night. Friday night, Saturday morning was no exception. We were at the church until 2:45 A.M. I was the first one to leave at that time, and my friend Lisa said they stayed a bit longer! We always have such a super time! It is something I look forward to every month because it is so therapeutic and a stress relief. This event is open to everyone in our church, and anyone they invite, but it usually is the same people every month. This time we played Canasta hand and foot, a game Lisa is reviewing. It was a fun game, and fun to try it out. We also played Apples to Apples. We used to play that one all the time, but we haven't played it in almost a year, so it was fun to bring it back out again. One of the funny things that always happens at our monthly LNO is that we get even sillier, and more laughter explodes as soon as the first person leaves. I am not sure why this happens, but it does. Our friend, Paula, usually goes home earlier, and we were teasing her that the real fun will start now. We are totally kidding about that, and not directing it at her. Seriously, the minute the door shut behind her we were laughing to almost tears over something. It really wouldn't matter who the person is that leaves first, but somehow that is a trigger for us to really let go and have a hootin' good time. I am really looking forward to our December LNO. We are doing a cookie exchange and white elephant gift exchange. I am hoping a few new faces will join us for that one! Of coarse we will do the games, food and share some hearty good laughs.
Saturday, besides being tired, I had to get up early for my monthly stamp club. I am in a Stampin' Up stamp club, and it is so much fun! We make 2-3 cards/projects, enter into a door prize, and make at least a $15 purchase. It is a great way for me to enjoy my hobby on a budget, and to have some time to make a few projects. I also get some great ideas. This club meets for about 10 months, and each month one person from the club gets the benefits of hostess, so they get free products. It is a great time, and I am happy to be in it. Saturday afternoon, my friend Lisa, had a Philadelphia Cream Cheese party. It was fun to socialize with the ladies, and enjoy yummy treats. I really enjoy cream cheese, and it was fun trying new recipes. When I got home on Saturday afternoon, I swept and vacuumed our basement level. It was needing the cleaning and organizing. Then, Saturday night, after supper and getting the kids to bed, Terry and I watched a movie together.
Today, we went to church, and it was great to be there. I haven't been to church in a few weeks. We were out of town last weekend, and the weekend before that I had woken up with the kink in my neck, Terry was working, and I really didn't want to bring the kids by myself...with being pregnant and chasing after the two little ones. Anyway, it was great to be back and fellowship. This afternoon, we all took much needed naps. I was so thankful for that! Now, in just a bit, we are going to get Nathaniel. He was with his Dad this weekend. I am excited to bring him home. I really hope he had a good weekend.
Please pray for my shoulder/neck/arm. I had a horrible night last night, and the pain was excruciating! I took some Tylenol, and Terry rubbed this cooling gel on it. It felt like sharp knives digging into my shoulder blade. I am going to try to get into some kind of Dr. this week. I do get to see my OB/GYN on Tuesday. MY DOCTOR! I am so glad and excited to be back in his care. It will be good to see him. I know he will let me know what type of things I can do or take for my pains. I can't believe I am pretty much 32 weeks already! Wow, this pregnancy is sure going fast! Oh, and I have a fun event coming up (here on my blog) the beginning of December. Going away...

I am so excited for this weekend. Terry and I are getting away for a weekend to ourselves! My wonderful Mother in Law is here for the weekend to care for the kids and our dog. Terry and I are heading out early morning (and yes, I am STILL UP). We will be gone all weekend and come home Sunday night. We are heading out for a huge, two day train show. Terry loves model trains, if you weren't aware of that, and we are in the process of starting a hobby store (carrying mostly model trains and accessories for now). So, this was a great opportunity for us to go to the show, get a weekend away before baby comes, and get some good quality time together~ alone! Can you tell I am excited? Terry and I really need this time away. We have been running around so busy lately, that time together is dwindling. It is so crucial to have quality time together! I am so thankful that we can do this. I am SO VERY THANKFUL that my Mother in law is willing and able to watch the kids. She loves our kids, and they adore her! I will be sure to post a lot of pictures and updates when I return. I won't have too much added this weekend with being away...but, no worries...I will catch up.

Updates:
I am still in pain with my neck/shoulder/arm. I went to the Chiropractor on Wednesday. He adjusted me and did treatments. I felt good for about 10 minutes. Now it is just consistant pain, especially in my shoulder joints. I have a hard time picking things up with my left hand, and my strength is minimized. Thursday I had a terrible time raising my hand up in the air to wash my hair, or get something up higher. It is a pain in the booty, but I just got to deal with it. The Chiropractor said he would refer me to see a Neurologist if it keeps up. So, I am icing, and doing very little lifting. I have another Chiropractic appointment on Monday morning. I hope the weekend is fun, regardless of my pains. I suppose I will have to bring some Tylenol with.

My mom had surgery on her eye socket on Wednesday morning. She was in really rough shape Thursday morning. She was very sick. Please pray that she will heal quickly and that her swelling will go down. Her one eyelid is so swollen that it doesn't shut all the way. She will have another appoinment on Friday morning. Her Birthday. Happy Birthday MOM! She is 70 years old today! I am so thankful for my mom! I would post a picture of her on here, but I just took all of our photos off of here and put them on CD. It would take quite awhile to find the picture. Anyway...I am blessed for who God gave me as my Mom. She is the best!

Weekend plans

Today I was home with the kids. I usually babysit on Fridays, but it was an exception today. I brought Nathaniel to school this morning, because he was going on a field trip to the MN Science Museum! I was hoping to be picked as one of the chaperone's, but unfortunately my name wasn't one of the lucky draws. Hopefully I will make the next field trip. I really like going on those, because I can get to know his teacher and classmates better. That way, when he mentions someone from his class, I know who he is talking about. I wish that I was able to volunteer once a week, but that would require getting a sitter...not really realistic.
I did some straightening up around the house today and did dishes. I will have extra company all weekend, so I have decided NOT to clean until Monday when my house isn't full of people. I really don't feel like cleaning it twice. Today, my father-in-law sliced wood for us, and that was greatly appreciated. It is a big job out there with the slicing and stacking. Our pile is huge and winter is coming...so, it is a must to get that done. We are hearing of possible snow on Sunday already. I am looking forward to the snow and winter. I am not a huge fan of the ice and freezing below wind chills, though. Tonight, Terry's mom and sister will be showing up for the weekend. It will be great to see them again! Tomorrow, Nathaniel will have a few friends over in the afternoon for his birthday party. That will be about 4-5 extra boys. I think Terry is going to be getting the boat and pontoon out of the lake, and finish winterizing the outdoors. We have a faucet that needs fixing before snow flies, too. In the evening, my parents will come over for dinner. We will be having a Grandparent supper celebration for Nathaniel...and to have a get together for them to visit. Like I had mentioned before, Terry's Dad is here from Alaska...and we haven't seen him in over 4 years. My parents have just met him on our wedding, so it will be good for them all to get to know each other.
Sunday, we will be heading down to bring Terry's Dad back to the airport, and then I believe we will just relax the rest of the day. A Day of Rest. I think we will need a day of rest after the busy weekend. I will try to post some this weekend, but if I don't~ you know why. :) Have a super weekend everyone!

Caleb's funnies over the weekend...

On Friday morning, I was cleaning up after breakfast, and Caleb came in singing, "Remember your children...Remember your children...(over and over)." So, I sang the song to him that he was singing from, and he said, "Yes, that's right mom." It was so precious.

Friday night, we were driving under a traffic light, and I said to my mother-in-law, "Those lights are two different colors. One is pea green and one is neon green." Caleb giggled and said, "Pea Green. That is funny mom! Pea Green! (laugh, laugh, laugh). Mom you are so funny! Pea Green is really funny! *pause* Mom, can I say pea green?"

A little later, Caleb said something along the lines of: "Mom, when you were a little baby, I held you and wrapped my arms around you. You were so little, and I could hold you."

Sunday, Caleb got into some different clothes. He put on shorts and a shirt that was sleeveless. He came running to me and said, "Mom, look at me! I have a shirt on with no arm sleeves!"

Our weekend~

It was a busy weekend, as you can tell, I didn't really spend much time online. Friday, I babysat all day. Then, I came home, packed my bag, made a birthday card, and got ready to head to the cities. My mother-in-law showed up during this time, and Nathaniel got home from school. Then, we left to go pick up Terry at work, because he had to work late. I was suppose to bring a change of clothes for him, but I forgot (of coarse) and we were late in getting him. I had to get gas before I left town, so that made us a little later. I was only 10-15 minutes later than planned, but I could tell I disappointed him. He was going to go set up for a train show that was on Saturday, and he wanted to be there at 6:00. So, he ended up being about 10-15 minutes late. I felt bad about not being there at 5:30, and forgetting his clothes. Anyway, we dropped him off, and then brought Nathaniel to meet his Dad. Then, since we had extra time~ Terry said set up was from 6:00-8:00~ we decided to go to McDonald's and get a cone, and let the kids play in the play area. Caleb was saying he was hungry, so I got him a cheeseburger, too. I was happy that this McDonald's had kiddy cones. (free child size cones) After they ate, Caleb ran around pretending to be Batman, and Maddie climbed right up to the top of the play place. She is not afraid at all. It was so funny when she got up to the top~ she freaked out from the bubble windows! She didn't understand that when she put her hand up to the "window" she couldn't touch it. She was weirded out by that. The little boy next to her was a few months younger, and he was holding on to it, and looking at her like, "see, it is easy to hold on to, whadda freaking out about?" When we were going to go, Maddie was still up there. Fortunately there was this nice Dad there, and he was willing to go up in there and bring her down for us. My MIL didn't want to go up there, and being pregnant, I didn't have any excitement to go up.
Picking up Terry we were about 2 minutes late. He was sitting outside (in the dark)...so, of coarse I felt bad about that. I apologized, and told him that I thought he said set up was 6-8. He said no problem. (as the tension/frustration is building) Then, we went to Barnes and Noble for a bit. I found a great book for my friend's birthday, and she was happy to get it. After we were done, Terry and my MIL dropped me off at Jennifer's house. We couldn't find the house for almost 30 minutes, because Mapquest is all messed up! So, Terry was getting very frustrated even more so. We did find it by trial and error, and I was finally at Jen's house. I was sad that Terry and I left each other with negative feelings. BUT, we did talk about it on Saturday, and cleared it all up. Anyway, Jennifer and I had a good time. Friday night, we watch a movie, and went to bed. Saturday, she had an appointment with a bride for photography. It was fun to go with, because it is someone we both went to college with. It was fun to see her after all these years. After that, we drove around for a bit, trying hard to decide on a place to have lunch. We ended up at an Italian diner. We went back to her house, and had some great talks. Jennifer and I never run out of things to chat about. It was great to be together and spend time together. Saturday early evening, Terry picked me up after his train show, and then we went out for supper at one of our favorite restaurants: Granite City Brewery. Then, we headed home.
Yesterday (Sunday), we went to church, had lunch, and the kids and I took a nap. Terry mowed the lawn, and did some outside work. Then, we spent sometime outside, had supper, and went to get Nathaniel. My MIL stayed with Caleb and Maddie, so Terry and I just went to get Nathaniel. When we picked him up, we went over the new 35 W bridge. It is pretty at night all lit up. We stopped for a cone at McDonald's then made our way home. It was a good weekend, but it sure went fast. Today (Monday), Terry and Nathaniel went off to work and school. I colored and cut my MIL hair. It turned out very nice, I think. She just headed for home. Now, I am going to get some things caught up, and get some cleaning done. I hope you all had a great weekend!

Girlfriend Time

I am so excited for tomorrow evening! I get to spend the evening with one of my bestest friends, Jennifer! I am really looking forward to just being together! Her hubby is away for the weekend, and she asked if I would like to come spend the night with her. Ummm...no, NOT! Yes, of coarse I would love to come hang out! Tomorrow I will be babysitting during the day, then, we will be bringing Nathaniel to his Dad's. Terry will be helping set up a model train show, and then he is dropping me off at Jen's house. YUP~ NO kids for me to take care of! For the night, anyway. My dear, and wonderful Mother-in-law is coming for the weekend (sometime tomorrow late afternoon). She is going to watch them on Saturday while Terry works the train show from 9-3. Then, Terry will help tear down the displays and come pick me up. So, we are talking all day girlfriend time on Saturday! Woo Hoo! I wonder what we will do!? Maybe I should bring our Wii with? LOL~ OH, And today is a special day, because it is Jennifer's birthday~ So, Happy Happy Birthday Lady! *hugs to you*

Getting up-to-date on things...

I have officially signed up with facebook. I think it is a lot of fun already! I thought blogging was addictive, now I am searching for friends from my youth, high school, and college! It is so fun and I highly recommend it! It is fun to see how people have changed over the last 10-18 years! I hope to find more of my friends!

Friday night, I went to Ladies Night Out. It was so much fun! I so much look forward to going once a month! We did have such serious talking this time, so we did have to bust out the Quelf game to get the giggles rolling. I read a card wrong~ I simply blame the pregnancy~ but the word was abracadabara! It was in all caps, so because I am pregnant and I was extremely tired for some reason I read it as Barrak-a-bra! I had to say this word, while twirling my hands above my head, every time someone picked up a new card. So, my friends thouroughly enjoyed laughing hysterical at me we got some laughs from that error. We were out so late this time, and I think we hit a record. We left the church at 2:15 AM. My sweet hubby let me sleep in on Saturday, so that was a huge blessing!

Saturday, Terry was going to go work on a model layout for trains for an upcoming train show, and I got to go see my dear friend! I was so excited to see her! We haven't seen each other since July, and that is too long! It was so great to reconnect again! Our kids had a great time playing together, too. Another great thing is, she is the mom to two of my nieces, so I got to see them, too! They are growing up so much! The oldest is a senior this year (hard to believe) and the other one is in 10th grade. It is exciting to see them grow up, but I am sad, too. I used to change their diapers. :)

Today, we went to church. Terry was going to go into work, but he decided he would rather stay home. He got a lot of work done here, though....so he was really happy he chose to be home. He switched out one of our garage doors, and he insulated more in our store. We had a yummy supper with steaks, baked potatoes and gazed baby carrots. It was a great day, and we had a ton of rain! Plus, I got hooked on facebook, and I am reconnecting with friends! :)

Kids gone for the weekend.

Last night, we met up with my MIL to pick up our dog, who she has so graciously dog sat since before our trip. I think Lena missed us. My MIL was also picking up Caleb and Madelyn for the weekend, too. I just think my MIL is so wonderful! She loves our kids so much, and she is great with them! Thank you, Cheryl! The kids love Grandma, too! It is great that they will get some great one on one time with her and Great Grandma this weekend. Friday night, we met at a Chinese restaurant. It is in the city near where my parents live. The city is huge, and has a monstrosity of restaurant to chose from. So, my point is, while we were there...my parents and oldest brother show up there to eat! How crazy is that? It was great to see them and visit with them, too.
Friday night, Terry and I had a great time just being together. It is nice to have the house to ourselves sometimes. It is much more quiet, but it is nice to just have time to rejuvenate. Today, Terry worked and I slept in. :) It was nice to sleep in and get up when I wanted to. Then, I called up my friend, Lisa, and we spent the day shopping and hanging out. It was fun to spend time with her without kids. Tonight, Terry and I went out to eat, and then we went to a movie. It was such a fun night. I am tired now, so I should get myself off to bed. Tomorrow, we will be off to my friend, Nicole's Birthday celebration. I am looking forward to that. We will also get Caleb and Maddie back tomorrow night. Monday, we will pick up Nathaniel in the evening.

My kids are back

We had a great time reconnecting with the kids. It was a warm welcome to see them when we picked them up tonight. They just kept hugging us. I think they are really happy to be home. Madelyn just loved running around the house. She kept tackling me and hugging me. I got many kisses, too. Tonight, Caleb kept saying, "Mom/Dad, I missed you." Nathaniel got his good share of hugs and kisses, too. Caleb was mister chatty box on the way home and he was being silly.

They had a great time with Grandma, and I am so thankful that she is so wonderful! She was willing to take the kids from Thursday night-Sunday. That is great for the kids to get some special time with her, Great Grandma, aunts and uncles and their cousins. It was nice to have some down time, get some things done, and just have some time to connect with Terry. We both had separate plans through the weekend, so we are hoping next month to have a get-away for a weekend for our Anniversary. We already have the green light for my amazing Mother-in-law to take care of our kiddos again. Thank you, Mom-in-law, for being so great with your grand kids, and for being the best MIL a gal could have! We love you!

Good Times!

I had a great weekend! Friday night, as I mentioned, we went out for dinner with my dear friend, Jennifer, her hubby and their son. Then, Saturday, Jennifer and Brody came over about lunch time. The day went so fast! Poor Brody was having a tough day. He was overly tired coming to our house, and Jennifer had to hear him scream the whole time she drove to my house. I feel bad for her and him. Then, about 5-10 minutes from my house (wouldn't you know it) he fell asleep. She tried to lay him down when they got here, but that didn't work out so well. So, Brody and Maddie played for about 45 minutes and then we went to McDonald's. Brody screamed his little heart out was upset the whole way there. He was fine once he had food in front of him. I was so impressed with this older gentleman at McDonald's. He saw me walking with the tray and holding Madelyn. He was in front of me before I could place the tray on the table. He had a high chair for me ready, with the tray off! Talk about being a gentleman! I was so touched! He asked me if I wanted the tray. I said no, and he said he would put it away for me! Wasn't that nice? I wish more people like this man were out in our world. Somewhere people have lost touch with the good 'ol chivalry! After McDee's we went to the grocery store. I needed a few items, and Jennifer wanted hair color. She asked me to cut and highlight her hair, and I was happy to do this for her. I figure I need all the experience I can get.
Then, we went back to my house. I forgot to mention that Nathaniel was with us, and Brody was not impressed by him, for some reason. I know Brody was tired, but I felt bad for Nathaniel, because every time he was around Brody, he screamed and cried. So, we had the tunes of Brody's wails on the way home, too. He was fortunate to get about a 30 minute nap, while I was preparing Jennifer's hair. I just got in the first foil, and he woke up. We put him in the pack in play, with his bottle of milk. He threw up, and then, we gave him some Tylenol. Jennifer said his teeth were really bothering him. Needless to say, we did get her hair highlighted and cut between our kiddos having some issues. I think it turned out really cute. I cut it a little shorter than Jennifer and I would have liked, but all in all...I like it a lot. I hope she will continue to like it. Thanks for the great day, and the experience, Jennifer!
Today, we decided to play hookie from church and clean some things in our home. I cleaned both bathrooms (thoroughly), and Terry fixed a few items on the "honey-do list," while doing the laundry. I know I don't like to skip church, but I really felt like we needed to do this. Plus, it was a really nice day, finally, and I knew Terry wanted to get the pontoon and the dock in. He was at the train show on Saturday with Caleb and his mom. He was gone most all day on Saturday, so he didn't really get anytime at home. At noon, I left to go see Jennifer! (Day 3 with her!) We went to a play at the Ordway in St. Paul. It was a good play, and fun. I would say it was a bit risky, but there were some chuckles from Jennifer, her sister Roxanne, and I. We got free tickets from Jen's sister, Tami. Thanks Tami! It was a good time, with LOADS of laughs! I was even in tears from laughing so hard. Thanks for a great day, Jennifer!
Tonight, we ate supper, and got the kid's baths done. Then, we went out for a family pontoon ride. It was a bit chilly, but it was great to be on the lake again!

Only in Minne"Snow"ta! ~and other chatting.

Well, it is suppose to be spring. Really, it is April 26th. Yet, we woke up to about an inch of snow! I can't believe it! I don't have a picture to post, but you can see what I mean by checking over at my friend's blog: Our Seven Qtpies, because she caught it on camera! I just want Spring to be here. It was only Wednesday that I had shorts on me and the kiddos with sandals...it was almost 80 degrees that day! Now, 3 days later it is freezing with snow. By this afternoon, a lot of it was melted away. It looks so weird because the grass is super green from all the rain, and we have the coating of snow. To me, it looks like frosting spilt all over our grass and hills.

Today, Terry went to go meet up with a train club. They are working on building a layout. If you are unfamiliar with model trains, a "layout" is a big board with scenery and track. A train travels around on the track. It is quite fun to watch, because some people really work hard at putting a lot of detail into their layouts. Last year we went to a train show in Menomonie, WI. They had so many layouts! If I took a guess, there were about 150 layouts! Some of them are not small either. I saw some that had little playgrounds with kids riding on teeter totters and swing sets. The equipment moved, too! Very cool! Lights, sound, people moving, a train guard going down...very inventive and creative! It is my husband's love hobby, and I have really grown to love it too. As a family, we go and watch real trains at the train yard every other weekend. We stand about 5 feet from a moving train. It is a rush. Caleb is really loving it! Maddie does the sign for train when we go now. It is cute. All day today Caleb has been asking to go watch trains.

While Terry went to work on the train set, Caleb, Madelyn and I went to see my Aunt and Uncle. It has been awhile since I have seen them. It was great to visit and see pictures from their trip out west. I really love spending time with my relatives! I wish I could see them more often. I feel lucky to get to see them today. I usually only see them once or twice a year. It was fun to catch up with them.

Caleb has had a fever most of the day. Last night he complained of a head ache, and he didn't get a fever until 10:00ish. He did great most of the day, except for around 4:00. He was whiny, complained of his head hurting and a head ache, and he was hot. I really should have stayed home with him today. He did mention his ears hurting on the way home. So, I wonder if it may be an ear infection, or double ear infection. Yeah...so, on to another round of sickness. I am a little concern about him. It seems like he complains of a head ache once a week or every other week lately. He has his yearly check up the beginning of June...but I may have to get him in sooner. We will see how tomorrow goes. I may have to bring him in Monday morning.

I am anxious to go get Nathaniel tomorrow. He is with his dad this weekend. It is good for him to have time with his dad, but I sure miss him when he is gone.

Where was I this weekend~

I see that I am keeping a trend of not blogging much over the weekend...until Sunday night. That is OK, right? I try to spend my weekends with the kids, Terry...and mainly family time. That is so important to me!
Friday night, I did do some blogging as Terry and Nathaniel played a car racing game on the PS 2. Saturday morning, I went to WW and I had a Pound and a half gain! I really need to get my management back in order. Back to writing everything down, and measuring everything! I have to get my discipline back! I am so happy that my friends: Jodi, Anna, and Jeannie are starting WW. It will help to have "fresh excitement" around me. That is so encouraging to me. You should go to Jeannie's blog by clicking HERE! She just started a blog, and she is doing it based on her new journey with WW! Go give her some encouragement!
After WW, I stopped by home, then I went to Jeannie's Tastefully Simple party. That was a lot of fun! Jodi (our mutual friend) was the consultant! She did a fantastic job! I love the Tastefully Simple products! I ordered some, and I booked a party!
Saturday afternoon I did some cleaning. I wanted to do so much more, but with Madelyn it is a bit limited. Terry wanted to work outside, and he had been with the kids all morning long...so, it was my turn with the kiddos. Nathaniel had a friend sleep over Saturday night. Terry and I actually watched a movie together Saturday night, too! It was great to cuddle up on the couch together. It has been awhile.
Today, we went to church in the morning. There was a bake (silent auction)sale to raise money for the Youth Group. There were plates of cookies, bars, cake, and pie...selling from $10-almost $40! That is great that our church family is so generous to make these desserts as a donation, and for the people willing to buy them at those prices to help the youth. What a blessing!
We got to go on our first family bike ride this afternoon. It was so nice outside! The ice is almost off the lake completely! We rode to the park, and played awhile. Terry and Nathaniel flew the dragonfly kite, and had a great time. I wish I would have remembered my camera.
I painted Madelyn's fingernails and toenails for the first time today. She sat still through all of it, and didn't really even notice it. She looks so cute with her nails all done up, so I had to do mine, too!

Incognito

Sorry I have been away from blogging a few days! I have been off the computer more. Friday night I went to Ladies Night out and it was a blast! We laughed so hard playing games! We had a good turn out for the night, too! Thank you ladies for a wonderful and fun-filled night!

Saturday, we had a train show. Terry and I have a business (a Hobby Store) that we are slowly getting up off the ground. We haven't done much with it over the winter, with kids being sick and the shop not really ready. So, we tried to sell some items at the show. It wasn't a very good turn out for people, but that is ok, because we didn't have a whole lot to sell. We did get more exposure, though. We did sell some product, and made some more sales after the show, so that is good. Saturday night, we had a yummy treat at the DQ. I haven't been there in a long time, so it was a fun treat.

Sunday, we went to church in the morning. Teen Challenge was there with testimonies and singing. It was great and inspiring to hear them tell how God has broken them from their addictions. It will be a daily and life-long journey for them, but with God they can have their chains broken, and be forgiven! My brother has gone through this very thing, and so it is close to home for me.
Sunday afternoon, Terry and Caleb took a long nap, then we went to watch trains. That is always a fun time with the kids. Madelyn saw the train, and she did the ASL sign for train! It was so cute, and amazing that she picks up the sign language like that!

Tonight, I went to my MOPS group. We had speakers there talking about parenting. It was absolutely wonderful, and I wish the night lasted longer! I will have to share more of it later this week. It is now almost 12:30 AM and I need to get some sleep. My kids are starting to feel better. Madelyn still has a really runny nose, but other than that, I think we have allergy issues.

From the weekend...and random things to get you up-to-date:

We had a great weekend. It was so fun to see family! Friday night we got up to see Terry's Mom and Grandma about 8:30 PM. We visited for awhile, and then went to bed. Saturday morning we lounged around. That was so nice, because I rarely do that much anymore. We had a late breakfast. Then, we went outside to play with the kids. We decided to go on a walk, and that ended up being about 4 1/2 miles long! The weather was so nice, and the walk was very fun. Madelyn slept most of it, and Caleb had a nap, too. We walked in the woods, and there was a dirt road. We also walked along the river, and it was so relaxing (even though it was exercise). Lena was with us, and she got a great walk in too. She was just as pooped out as we were when we got home. We ate supper/lunch when we got back, then went to a movie that night. We went to see, "Horton hears a Who" with Terry's nephews, his mom, our kids, and our sister-in-law. It was a great movie! I think the animation was great! The only thing I really didn't care for was they used the name boob in reference to one of the Who's a couple of times...like to call him a name. Other than that, I think it was a fantastic movie! Nathaniel said it was one that we have to own. :) After we got home, it was about 9:15 PM, and Terry gave Caleb a bath. Terry's mom watched the kids, and we went to get Terry's sister (about 35 minutes away). We picked her up and met her boyfriend. We were going to go out for coffee, but it was too late, and we were tired.
Sunday, we got up early, and got ready. Terry and I went out for breakfast, then met everyone at church. We were pretty tired, and Terry even nodded off to sleep a few times in church. I really think the weather had something to do with it, though. We were blasted with cold MN chill and more snow on Sunday. Actually it snowed really hard and really big flakes! After church, we had lunch. Then, the kids looked high and low for plastic eggs. We celebrated our Easter late because we were home bound over Easter with sick kids. We didn't get to color eggs over the weekend, because we ran out of time. So, we will probably color eggs tonight.
On the drive home, it was slick in a few spots, and the visibility was bad for the first 45 minutes-hour. We also had our van door jammed somewhat open. It was a bit freaky, and it was also a little loud. We gave Terry's sister a ride home, then we decided to drive around Mille Lacs Lake. The drive was so pretty and scenic (yes, even with the snowy yuck). That night, we just did some laundry and relaxed. Terry did find the culprit to the door being jammed, a McDonald's toy was stuck in the side. So, all is good now. :)
Monday, we didn't make it to babysitting, because Nathaniel stayed home from school with a sore throat and ear pain. I had a terrible headache, too. (Which is why I didn't put anything on my blog). I did make it to my stamp club last night, and that was fun. I got to see my friend Naomi, too, because she came for a visit. Late last night, at about midnight, Caleb woke up with a terrible cough. We gave him cough meds and got him back to bed. This morning he woke up with a fever, cough, sneezing and a runny nose. So, yippee, we get to deal with more sickness. I wish I could buy an immunity bubble for my kiddos. Know where I could get one? I am sure he got it at church Sunday, or something that his cousins had. I know 2 of the nephews had runny noses, and their little one always has a terrible cough. I am not sure why, but he seems sick a lot. Poor little guy.
So, being Tuesday, we are home bound once again. I feel frustrated today, because my kids are sick again, and I can't help my friend out with babysitting Claudia! Grrr....

Weekend

This weekend we will be going to my Mother-in-Law's and Terry's Grandma's to celebrate a (belated) Easter. We weren't able to make it up there for Easter because of Madelyn and Caleb being sick. I am really looking forward to spending time with family and just getting away. It will be fun to color eggs with the kids, and letting play with their cousins and Grandmas. I probably won't be online after 5 PM Friday-Sunday night. I may sneak on here to write a post or two, since I have a bit of an addiction...but we will see. I may just want to be on time out.

**Celebrations**~What a Weekend!~

I am sorry that I have been away from "The Land of Blog" over the weekend. We had company at our house. My Mother-in-law and Sister-in-law was here Friday-Sunday. It was a busy weekend. Friday night, Terry came home with a mixed bouquet of flowers and one single rose. He said the rose was for Madelyn's first birthday! You can let out an, "AHHH, OH..." because I thought it was super sweet, too! She got her very first rose from her Dad. Then, MIL and SIL came and we ate supper. Later that night, we watched Transformers. I have to say that is a great action movie! I bet it would have been awesome to see that on the big screen, but to no avail, we have a little 27 incher. It was still great, though! I would have taken out about 4 scenes do to content and visuals, but other than that, it rocked!
Saturday I did my WW meeting in the morning, and Nathaniel came with me. After not going for one week (so 2 weeks without weighing in) I had an unfortunate gain of 1.8 pounds. I know it may not seem much, but I was bumming. I really need to just buckle down and work harder at not being tempted by all the yummy foods! I am really happy that spring is right around the corner. After WW, we went to the Post Office and "tried" to mail some packages. I grabbed a box, envelope, and tape off the shelves, and sealed up the goods. After waiting in line for about 15 minutes, the clerks said, "Checks or cash only, because our machines are down." WHAT?? Who really carries cash or checks around anymore? So, after working it all out, I had to give them information and then go back there today (Monday) to pay for the materials and postage. Oh well, what was I to do?
After the Post Office, we went to Walmart. I had Nathaniel try on some jeans, and we were able to get some. It is really hard to find slim in his size, but I did manage to find 2 pair. We also picked up a few more groceries and necessities. Then, Saturday night we just hung out and watched another movie. We watched Chuck and Larry. Terry heard it was a good and funny movie. I guess it just isn't my cup of tea. I don't find gay things funny. Adam Sandler's movies don't really appeal to me because the humor is a bit crude and disgusting. Terry feel asleep about 15 minutes into the movie, so it really didn't spark his interest either. Really, it was a movie that I could have been better off not watching.
Sunday, we went to church in the morning. Then, I did a quick sweep, mop, and wash of the windows (taking those precious hand prints and dog nose prints off the windows) before the big party. It was Madelyn's First Birthday party! We had about 30
people here! It was a full house. Here are some of Madelyn's First Birthday pictures...

We got her to smile for the camera by playing "peek-a-boo" with a tiny bear that was dressed in a duck outfit. She loves her new little bear-duck that she got from Great Grandma Ruby!
Terry's Grandma made an adorable (and tasty) cake for Miss Madelyn...

And she just loved the kitty, she even said, "Meow!" She indulged her taste buds completely~

She had frosting, pink mind you, all over...in her hair, on her elbows, her arms, the chair...but not too much on her tights. She loved it! She has never had cake before (to my knowledge). The only other real "sugary" thing she has had is ice cream. That is a daily house hold term here.
She had so much fun filling her cute, little face. I wish this cake would add a little weight to her tiny little body!

She was blessed with many cute new clothes (super adorable!), books, a pink soccer ball, white patented shoes, Pediped shoes, head bands a snoring duck (that was a huge hit with Miss Madelyn), a play camera~that even flashes, a pink shovel, big pail, and a watering can for "helping out" this summer! Through all that she had a great day! She was exhausted at the end of the day, and so were we. She had a great time with family and friends! It was great to have our first "girlie" party! Thank you to the people who came that read my blog. It was a fun time, and thanks for making it so special for Madelyn! Happy birthday to my little Princess~ you are our daughter...and you are God's child! Thank you, God, for blessing us with Madelyn.

Here is the scoop on the past weekend...

I am sorry I have been away from the "Bloggin'" World this weekend. We have kept pretty busy, in spite of some sickness. Terry's mom came down for the weekend. She had a car appointment on Friday, so she came to stay (even though we had some sick bugs here). Friday, Terry was home sick from work. He was pretty sick. I am so glad he is better now. Friday night, I brought Nathaniel down to his Dad's, then I picked up my MIL. Her car had to spend the night at the shop. It worked out great to pick her up, because the car shop was on the way. Friday night we just watched a movie at home. Saturday morning I went to my WW meeting, and I am so glad I did! I hit 41 1/2 pounds of loss! I couldn't believe that I loss that much! Did you know that is a whole bag of dog food!! That is so amazing to me! I can't believe that I have shed that much weight! I started my journey to weight loss, food management, and healthier lifestyle in September. Here I am 40+ gone! YA HOO!!~~

Saturday we just hung out during the day, I did something I said I would never do by coloring my own hair!I colored my own hair
(with the help of my MIL). I have been going to my hairstylist for YEARS now, but I just had a desire to try it out. I wasn't really sure how the whole thing worked. I have been told that it looks great, but it is such a drastic change for me. My hair has gotten so dark over the years. Normally I just do highlighting and low lighting. So, going all blonde with some sparatic reddish colors and darks, it is a big change. Seriously, I scare myself every time I look in the mirror because I forget!
In the evening on Saturday, Terry and I got to go out for a date night!
It was wonderful! We went to a local bowling alley/Bar & Grill. It is pretty new, and it was a lot of fun! We decided to do the "Moonlight" bowling. We paid our fee and then we got to play unlimited bowling. The price included shoes. It was so fun to bowl! I haven't been bowling for about 4 years! I used to be on a bowling league, and I loved it! I really miss the league...but someday I will do it again! I think Terry and I played about 13-15 games!! It was crazy! It was only him and I on the lane. For this moonlight bowling, they had different contests going on. They had tickets that people could buy, and when the ticket was drawn, the holder got to take a chance at a strike. If they stuck out, they won $100. We also had the color pin wins...where if the color pins are in a certain formation, you won a certain dollar amount based on where they were if you got a strike. One other game they had was they had a random person throw the ball, and whatever amount of pins they got down that was the "base number." Then, they would have everyone on that frame throw their ball. If they happened to get the amount of the "base number" down or better, they won $10. Over all, we got about $16 dollars back. It was a lot of fun. Terry and I were so sore on Sunday, and I am really feeling sore today, too!

Sunday, we went to church in the morning. Then, we decided to head to the Chinese buffet for lunch. Side note: Our church was hosting a "Brazilian" food fundraiser for lunch, but we really didn't have any thing for the kids. (Sorry to my friends from church reading this because we didn't go). I hope to go on a mission trip someday! I would love to go to Brazil or Haiti someday. I have friends in Haiti. Sunday afternoon, we just hung out at home and relaxed. Terry decided to brush off the snowmobile and take it for a spin. He also took Caleb for a ride. They had some fun, but it wasn't a real long ride. It was a beautiful day outside...sunny and warm (for MN)!



Sunday night, Terry and I went to pick up Nathaniel. We stopped an looked at some cars on the way home. We have to get a little commuter car to help save on gas. Terry drives 45 minutes each way to work everyday. We also drive 4 hours every other weekend to bring Nathaniel to his dad's. So, getting a good gas mileage car is a necessity! Today, I am back to work! I was so happy to get back to watching Claudia! She is practically running now. She has really picked up the trade of walking! She is such a little honey pie! I love her little smile and cheeky grin! She is just a little sunshine! I think all the kids were happy to be together again. We had a little incident where Caleb thought he might want to bite her! I have no idea why he even thought to do that, or where it came from! I really hope that was the last time he tries that! He was a little bit on the testy side today, and I hope tomorrow is a better day. Tonight, I went to MOPS (Mothers of Pre-schoolers) and we had our Spa-Night! It was a great night of pampering! We had a YOGA session, eye brow waxing, hair cuts, foot spa, hand massage and paraffin waxing, make-up counsel, and a natural product line. It was a relaxing and an enjoyable evening. Weekend trip

I have been gone since Friday evening. Terry, the kids, Lena and I went to my husband's side of the family for our (belated) Christmas gathering. It was a full house. Friday night, on our way up, Terry, the kids and I stopped for supper. We went to Perkins. We had some coupons, and thought it sounded yummy. Caleb really wanted to have the rainbow pancakes. When we ordered, we specified that Caleb is extremely allergic to eggs. We asked that the pancakes be made specially (away from the eggs) on the griddle. Our waitress assured us she would let the chef know, and that he is a great chef, so there should not be an issue. Well, 10 minutes later, the waitress brought us our food. She informed us that as she was grabbing the pancakes, the chef told her that the batter has eggs in it. With all our food sitting in front of us Caleb nearly starving to death she asked if he would like to have something different. I am thinking I would like to give her a swift kick in the booty for waiting until our food was done to tell us there is eggs in the batter I politely told her that he will have a cheeseburger instead. So, Caleb had to sit there watching us eat as he waited. Terry and I gave him bacon and potato wedges. I wasn't all too happy with our waitress or that "great" chef. You would think he would know about the eggs and tell her when she put the order in....HELLO??!!
We got to Terry's Mom and Grandma's around 9. We just settled in for the evening. Saturday, we opened gifts and our stockings. It was a fun morning. We snacked on food all day and I really wasn't super careful with my points allowed each day with Weight Watchers. I will have to do some extra exercising this week and really watch the food choices. We opened gifts with Terry's Grandma and the rest of the clan in the afternoon. Caleb was opening one gift that someone wrapped in a Velveeta box. When Caleb saw the box he said, "I got Macaroni and Cheese!"
We took the kids sledding at a nearby hill Saturday afternoon. Caleb had just woke up from a nap, and he really wasn't ready to go sledding. As we were getting out of the van (at the sledding hill) Caleb said, "Dad, I am not really excited about sledding!" It was so funny. Nathaniel and Terry had a blast. I didn't go sledding down the ice hill, because I prefer the snowy hills. It was fun to watch, though....except this stray dog was there doing as Terry calls, "the Humpty Dumpty." It was nasty....yes, it all started with Nathaniel. He was sliding down on his jacket (laying on his stomach) when the dog went over to him and hopped on to ...ahem....ride him. It was so gross!! Then the stupid dog went over to Terry's little cousin and got on her head!! It was so nasty! We got after that dog, but it just didn't get it!
Saturday night, Terry's brother and his wife, Terry's cousin and his girlfriend, and Terry and I went out for a few hours. It was fun to go out on a date, and be kid-free for awhile. We had a fun time. Sunday morning, we all got up and got ready for church. After church we relaxed for awhile. Then, we had lunch and posed for a few pictures. By 3:00 we were all loaded up and on our way back home. It was a fun weekend, but it is so wonderful to be back home.
