Got a thing for Wisconsin cheese? Boston baked beans? Georgia peaches? New Mexico chiles? Fly your favorite food flag in the Steak-umm “Hometown Burger’ recipe contest, using an ingredient that is closely associated with a city or state. Who knows – maybe you’ll invent the next Philly cheesesteak!
Simply use a special local food in a dish built around Steak-umm Burgers - frozen, ready-to-cook patties available in both 1/4-pound Original and 1/3-pound Original and Sweet Onion varieties. Each entry will be judged on originality, taste, visual appeal, creative pairing of your hometown ingredient with the Steak-umm product, and the extent to which the recipe brings out the essence of the local cuisine.
The grand prize is a Weber Q 100 Liquid Propane Gas Grill – just in time for summer barbecuing. The two runners-up will receive a 10” limited-edition Steak-umm frying pan.
The contest runs from March 15 through June 15. Winners will be selected by June 25. Entries must include the name, address and telephone of the entrant, list the ‘hometown’ food used in the recipe and what city or state it represents, and be postmarked no later than June 15. Recipes can be submitted to hometownburgercontest@sspr.com with the subject line ‘Hometown Burger Contest’ or mailed to the attention of:

I didn't even know they still MADE steakumms! I'm pretty sure I used to like them, but haven't had one in at least 20 years.
