Thirteen Things you may have had if you were young in the 70's....

IF YOU WERE A LITTLE GIRL IN THE 70'S......

1. You had that Fisher Price Doctor's Kit with a stethoscope that actually worked.

2. You owned a bicycle with a banana seat and a plastic basket with flowers on it.

3. You thought Gopher from Love Boat was cute (admit it!)

4. You had either a "bowl cut" or "pixie", not to mention the "Dorothy Hamill".
People sometimes thought you were a boy.

5. You had rubber boots for rainy days and Moon boots for snowy days.

6. YEAH! You owned a "Slip-n-Slide", on which you injured yourself on a sprinkler head more than once.

7. You owned "Klick-Klacks" and smacked yourself in the face more than once !

8. Your Holly Hobbie sleeping bag was your most prized possession.

9. You wore a poncho, gauchos, and knickers.

10. You begged Santa for the electronic game, Simon.

11. You had the Donnie and Marie dolls with those pink and purple satiny shredded outfits, or the sunshine family.

12. You spent hours in your backyard on your metal swing set with the trapeze. The swing set tipped over at least once.

13. You had homemade ribbon barrettes in every imaginable color. (Oh yeah!)

************This is more than 13, but I had to share for the smiles...**********

You had a pair of Doctor Scholl's sandals (the ones with hard sole & the buckle). You also had a pair of salt-water sandals.

You wanted to be Laura Ingalls Wilder really bad; you wore that Little House on the
Prairie-inspired plaid, ruffle shirt with the high neck in at least one school picture;
and you despised Nellie Oleson!

You wanted your first kiss to be at a roller rink!

Your hairstyle was described as having "wings" or "feathers" and you kept it "pretty"
with the comb you kept in your back pocket.

You know who Strawberry Shortcake is, as well as her friends, Blueberry Muffin and Huckleberry Pie.

You carried a Muppets lunch box to school and it was metal, not plastic.
With the thermos inside some were glass inside and broke the first time you dropped them.

You and your girlfriends would fight over which of the Dukes of Hazzard was your boyfriend.

GREAT list! I recognize almost all of these from my life. I totally remember making those ribbon barrettes in homeroom when I was done with all my work -- school colors for game day, of course!

I was only alive for 2 yrs & 11 days of the 70s, but I must admit, I do remember most of them. Esp. Holly Hobbie. My entire room was Holly Hobbie. She's back on the Disney Channel in a very "current" look & I just can't do it. We've got every episode of the Muppets on VHS & season 1 on DVD...my son says "Kermit!" and then isn't much interested. My Dorothy Hamill haircut lasted well into the 80s.

Oh I really loved this one, I could soo relate. I absolutely loved Klick Klacks but I think we called them something like Kabooms-
I had doctor scholls and saddle shoes. I had feathered and Dorothy Hamil hair, Blueberry Muffin was my favorite, Gopher was a cutie(I admitted that on a previous TT) and my banana seat bike was my all time favorite. Thanks for bringing me back a few decades I enjoyed the trip down Memory lane

I was a little girl in the 70s and share many of these memories. The Dr. Scholl's thing was a strange phenomenon. How could they be heavy and comfortable and oh so ugly? I loved my blue ones.

I remember Klick Klacks! A friend of mine fractured his wrist with some; I'm not sure how!

I wasn't really that young in the 70s - I was a teenager, but I recognize all of those, but only 2, 5, & 7 actually fit me and my sisters and I never hit myself in the face with my klick-klacks!

Thanks for visiting my TT!

Are you kidding me? I STILL want a Simon game! I never could get Santa to spring for one, no matter how I begged.

Great list. It took me back to elementary school!

I Love this list! I did think Gopher was cute (I used to watch Love Boat every saturday night while my mom put pink spongy curlers in my hair for church the next day. I HATED sleeping on those suckers!)!

I so had homemade ribbon barrettes. Some of mine had feathers too.

I wasn't born until 79, but I remember a lot of these, so I guess I wasn't very fashionable!
