Picture Keeper (Review & giveaway!)

We have so many pictures on our computer, and they are not safe sitting there. I have already had one of our computer's crash, and lost several precious pictures on that hard drive. We are hoping to restore that hard drive (somehow) and I am hoping to get those photos back~ especially my daughter's birth photos!
I was so excited to review the Picture Keeper, designed by Matthew Stanchie in 2006. His friend lost all her photos after a lightning storm, and this inspired him to create/design the Picture Keeper. Before developing Picture Keeper, Stanchie had spent 15 years working for industry leaders Hewlett-Packard, IBM and GE in their IT support and solutions departments. In one of his first positions, he introduced the Windows PC to corporate consumers who, more often than not, had never even used a mouse. Through his work with 4000 computer novices, Stanchie learned the importance of backing up data-- at the time using floppy disks, to ensure his clients never lost valuable information.
I think that the Picture Keeper is an amazing product, and I think everyone that owns a computer, and does any kind of photo uploads should have a Picture Keeper! I couldn't believe how easy it was to use! All I did was take it out of the packaging, and stick it into my computer's USB port. Once I started the program, I created a backup of all my photos! I was amazed that this product could store all my photos, and still has room for more photo storage! I was able to make changes to the settings and backup all my photos and my husband's (from his storage). We could also get our photos from all drives on our computer. I really think that is amazing! I like that I can bring the Picture Keeper to my family and friend's homes and share my photos. I can also just bring the Picture Keeper to a photo location to upload and order my photos.
Some helpful facts:
The Picture Keeper can be used with multiple computers, Mac and PC.
The Picture Keeper is designed to plug into a digital photo frame, which makes for an instant slide show.
You can plug the Picture Keeper in your USB port over and over, and it will find new or changed files and copy those to the Picture Keeper~ without copying ones you already backed up. That is a great feature! So often I have to sort through endless pictures/folders to see if I have already uploaded them from our camera. It can be such a chore. I think that the feature of already knowing what photos are stored, is great!
I know that the Picture Keeper is a life saver in our home, and we will be using ours always! No more lost photos with a computer crash~ as long as I always backup my photos!
The Picture Keeper comes in three sizes (4GB, 8GB & 16GB).
4GB- Holds up to 4,000 (1MB) images SRP $29.99
8GB- Holds up to 8,000 (1MB) images SRP $39.99
16GB- Holds up to 16,000 (1MB) images SRP $59.99
Plus, they're working on an external hard drive version which would be able to hold 100 to 300+GB!! There is a very helpful step-by-step guide on the Picture Keeper website that helps users find out how much space you will need to backup your images. While on the website, you can sign-up to receive Backup Reminders from Picture Keeper, so you’ll never forget when it’s time to backup your images.
Picture Keeper just won a Dr. Toy Best Vacation Products for Summer 2009 award! Well deserved, too!
