Infantino Savvy Bag (diaper clutch) Review & Giveaway!

Being a mom, I know that I need to carry many things with me when I go places. I don't always like carrying a big and bulky diaper bag for the shorter outings, or to a place I will only be for an afternoon. I love simplicity, and when it comes to changing a diaper, I want conveinence as well.
Infantino has a great diaper clutch called the Savvy bag, and I absolutely love this bag! I love how it looks, the design, and how it fits just what I need inside. The Savvy Bag has a removable pad, and it can stay buttoned to the bag (so you don't lose it). I love having a washable pad with me, because those changing tables aren't the most sanitary places to lay your babe down. I am kind of a germ a phobe, so I love this accessory to the Savvy bag from Infantino!

Features:
On-the-go tote with fold-out changing pad
Smart design stows all your essentials
Water resistant pad turns any spot into a clean and comfy changing area
Fold-out changing pad detaches from clutch

Details:
Holds diapers, wipes and everyday essentials
Cushy built-in pillow for baby

I have been told, by a few people, when using my Savvy Bag, that they like my purse. It is such a cute and stylish diaper clutch, that it is often mistaken for a purse. I love it!

I can easily fit 4-5 diapers inside, plus a bag of wipes. There is a side pocket on the Savvy bag as well, which can hold your wallet, book, or other smaller item.

I highly recommend the Infantino Savvy Bag to all moms of babies in the diaper or toilet training years. It is conveinent, stylish, and essential for those trips to the grocery store, library, church, or to a friend's house for the afternoon. Whatever the occasion, the Savvy bag is quite handy, and fun to use.

Keep Allergen's away with Filtrete Air Filters

With 3 people in my home who suffer with seasonal allergies, myself one of them, I try really hard to keep the allergens minimal. I try to keep our house clean, for the most part, with cleaning regularly. I have a special vacuum that traps the dirt and dust into water, verses sucking the dust/dirt into a bag, which would be miserable with our allergies.
I am also going to purchase a Filtrete Air Filter to see if that will help reduce the amount of allergens moving in our home. Really, we can't wait for the first hard freeze for our outside allergies to be gone. However, the inside/winter allergens are going to be with us for the next 6-8 months. So, we will need to make life more enjoyable by installing a Filtrete Elite Allergen Reduction Filter from 3M.
The Filtrete Elite Allergen Reduction Filter is designed to:
**Capture 94 percent of large airborne particles such as pollen, smoke, dust mite debris and pet dander from the air as it passes through the filter.
**Capture up to 40 times more microscopic particles than ordinary fiberglass filters.
**Helps maintain airflow in heating and cooling systems, which may help prevent stress on the system and reduce the amount of energy needed to warm your home this Fall and Winter.

I am really excited to see how this filter will work in our home, and help my son, husband and myself with our miserable allergies...to keep them away.

Check out the Filtrete Website to check out the Clear Advantages program and sign up receive coupons, tips and seasonal e-newsletters.

Here are some tips from Laura Dellutri for a cleaner, healthier home, that I want to share with you.
Cleaning From Top to Bottom
Tips and Secrets for a Cleaner, Healthier Home
When it comes to the routine of cleaning, homeowners tend to be more concerned with stacks of dirty dishes (66 percent), piles of laundry (58 percent) and dust balls on their carpet (57 percent), according to a survey commissioned by 3M, maker of Filtrete air cleaning filters. But they often forget about other areas of the home – such as bedding, shower doors and even stuffed animals – that can be breeding grounds for bacteria, mildew, dust mites and foul odors.
Healthy Housekeeper Laura Dellutri offers these tips for cleaning your home from top to bottom and making it healthier in the process:
Start at the Top: Ceiling fans, tall mantles and bookshelves, and the tops of door frames tend to subscribe to the “out of sight, out of mind” motto. These areas often harbor dust, so it’s important to wipe them down regularly to help remove dust buildup. Start at the top and work your way down, collecting all of the dust and dirt that falls to the floor while you’re cleaning.

Wipe Down Windows and Walls: Don't clean windows the old fashioned way – newspaper can cause ink residue and paper towels leave lint behind. Your best bet is to use microfiber cleaning cloths and a professional window squeegee to get a streak-free, spotless shine. To prevent streaks on shower doors and walls, apply lemon oil to the door twice a month. This will help repel soap scum and shampoo, while also adding a nice shine.

Think Horizontally: Dust mites are nearly everywhere. In fact, the American Lung Association estimates that roughly four out of five homes in the United States have detectable levels of dust mite allergen in at least one bed. Reduce dust mites by encasing your mattress and pillows, and wash your bedding in hot water about once a week. Also, since dust mites are microscopic, place strips of duct tape on the mattress case to prevent the dust mites from sneaking through.

Clean the In-between: While cleaning what you can see, don’t forget to clean what you can’t see – the air you breathe. Use a high performance air filter in the home, such as the Filtrete 1” Elite Allergen Reduction filter from 3M, to help capture particles such as pollen, smoke, dust mite debris and pet dander from the air that passes through the filter. Be sure to change your filter at the start of every season, or every three months.

Freeze the Fur: Stuffed animals can harbor dust mites so it’s important to pay special attention to them. Place stuffed animals in a large plastic bag and freeze them for four to five hours. Remove them from the freezer and plastic bag, and use a vacuum with a HEPA filter to remove any leftover dust particles.

Finish With Floors: To keep floors in tip-top shape, vacuum and clean them weekly. You can easily make your own floor cleaner by adding a few drops of mild liquid dish detergent to a gallon of water. Hot water can break down floor finishes after time so use water that is barely warm. Finally, don’t forget to clean the floor under large pieces of furniture, which may require you to temporarily move them elsewhere. Corners of rooms and the back of closets often are overlooked, so be sure to clean these areas as well.

Kitchen Clean-Up
Certain areas of the home, especially the kitchen, can breed and harbor germs that not only cause odors but can spread to family members. These low-cost cleaning tasks, when done regularly and properly, can be effective in making the home healthier for your family:

Trashcans: Trashcans should be cleaned monthly using a chlorine bleach and water solution. Simply combine one cup of non-chlorine bleach for every three gallons of water and pour the solution into the trashcan. Swish the solution around in the trashcan, and wait about five minutes for the chlorine to kick in and kill the germs.

Refrigerators: Cleaning the refrigerator monthly will improve the safety and quality of your food. If you are tired of cleaning spills and food particles from your refrigerator, then cover shelves with washable shelf liners. They will catch most of the food spillage, and will make cleanup quicker and easier. Once a month, throw them in the dishwasher for a good cleaning, and then place them back in the refrigerator once they are dry.

Sinks: Since bacteria can accumulate in cracks and crevices, pay extra attention to these areas when disinfecting. Also, stainless steel sinks can be tough to clean and can look spotty due to water spots and lime build up. To keep the sink shiny, use a soft buffing wheel to restore the luster. Then, use a cloth to generously apply mineral oil to the sink. Water will bead up and roll off the sink, keeping it shiny and helping prevent spots.

"Life As We Know It" movie review

I love the new movie that just came out in theaters this weekend, "Life As We Know It," starring Katherine Heigl, as Holly Berenson, and Josh Duhamel, as Eric Messer. Holly and Eric are mutual friends to a couple, Peter Novak (Haye MacArthur) and Allison Novak (Christina Hendricks). Peter and Allison tried to pair Holly and Messer up, but it was a date gone bad. Peter and Allison got married, and Holly and Messer were attendants. Through being the couple's best friends, they were together a lot, even though they hated each other.
Peter and Allison have an adorable daughter, Sophie, and through the first year of her life, Holly and Messer are with her for so many events. Sadly, and very sadly, Peter and Allison die in a car accident. Unknown to Holly and Messer, Peter and Allison had named Holly and Messer as godparents, which they were to have total care for Sophie.
With taking over custody of Sophie, Messer and Holly are to share the home.
Learning how to parent and care for Sophie, Holly and Messer must learn to set aside their selfishness and learn to work together for Sophie's well being.
Messer is a Network Sports Director and Holly is a caterer. Their careers are right at the point of growth and moving up, so they must weigh what is more important, a high status job, or raising their best friend's daughter?
Messer is a happy bachelor, and he is very content with dating several different women, and Holly is still looking for the right guy. One day, Holly meets the man of her dreams, Sam~ A Doctor. Sam (Josh Lucas : Sweet Home Alabama) and Holly go on their first date, and Messer shows a little insecurity and jealousy. On their date, "Dr. Love" gets a phone call from Messer about Sophie being sick. The Dr. and Holly meet Messer and Sophie at the hospital, and find out Sophie will be Ok. Holly and Messer end up showing interest in each other after that, and life gets a little interesting for them.
Some big decisions come for Messer and he must make a decision that will greatly impact Holly and Sophie. Will his new home life keep him around, or does he choose something different?
With a case worker checking in on Holly and Messer with the guardianship of Sophie, she encourages them to work together, don't get romantically involved with each other ~ to prevent complications, and to put Sophie first. The end of the movie is a great surprise, and I loved how they celebrated Sophie's 2nd Birthday.
I think this movie is a "must-see." It is a romantic comedy, and I will say that I laughed and cried. It was an emotional movie, because I have my own kids, and it made me think about my own kids in the unlikely event of death.
I recommend this movie, and I think that Katherine Heigl, Josh Duhamel and Josh Lucas were marvelous on the screen. Great chemistry and emotion acting!
**In theaters now***

This movie was a movie review for Mom Central. With this movie review, I will be given an online gift card for my time and review. I was not compensated for this, and this review is of my own opinions and interpretations.

Infantino EcoSash carrier

Baby wearing is such a great way to keep my infant-toddler close by when then want to be near me...and yet, I can have my hands free for other things. I am so thankful that my child rearing days is spent with baby wearing time. I wish I had known of baby wearing when my oldest was a little one. I know baby wearing is not a new thing, it is just a newer trend to me. Being an Infantino Test Drive mom, through a test drive panel with Mom Central, I was sent an Infantino EcoSash Carrier, a Wrap & Tie Carrier. I love it!
This is one of the most comfortable baby carrier, and I loved how easy it was to put on myself! The material is very soft, the padding is nice and thick, and the carrier is fitting for many sizes. I love how this carrier has a detachable hood, to cover your baby's head (to protect their head). I love that I can cover my child's head, but I also love that I can remove this if I don't want to use it. Very nice!
The instructions on how to put the carrier on are sewn on the inside panel, on the shoulder straps and on the waist band. I think this carrier is very user friendly, and the instruction manual has an even more in depth description on how to put the carrier on and wear your baby in different positions.I love the design on the EcoSash Carrier from Infantino. The pattern is gender neutral, and it blends well with many colors.
The EcoSash is easy to put on, and with the helpful instruction in the manual, I can put my kids in several positions. I prefer my kids facing in toward me the best, but it is so nice to have options.
The backpack position is great for the toddler ages, or baby's who can hold their head up without support. What is nice about putting the EcoSash on with this position, you little one sits on a chair or couch while you are getting ready, and then you can easily have your little one in the right position to put the carrier on your back.
Madelyn is my little one who loved the baby wearing the most, and she still loves to be held a lot. I am so thankful that the EcoSash works for her, and that by using it, I have less strain on my back, hips and legs.
My kids love being so close, held, and comforted by being in the EcoSash. I highly recommend this great product from Infantino! I think this infant carrier is great for the new mom- the preschool years. I love that this carrier is great for a few of my kids presently, and will be ready for any others we may have.
My kids give the EcoSash carrier two thumbs up! The EcoSash Carrier will be available at Babies R US. Babies R Us will offer $10-off the EcoSash and Balance carriers from August 11-September 21st.
Great Deal!!

Breyer's Smooth & Dreamy (review & 4 giveaways!!)

Summer is a great time to enjoy ice cream treats! Our family loves to enjoy ice cream almost everyday, and I was thrilled to try out the new Breyers Smooth & Dreamy bars or sandwiches.
I bought the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough cookie sandwiches, and they are very good! I think that the ice cream is very creamy tasting, and the treat is just enough to satisfy the desire for an ice cream treat. I really liked that there is only 160 calories and 4 grams of fat per sandwich, that is less than other ice cream sandwiches and ice cream bars! With the added 1 gram of fiber, Bryers Smooth & Dreamy Ice Cream sandwich is a good treat that I don't feel so guilty about indulging in. The Smooth & Dreamy product line also has other great selections: Chocolate covered strawberry bars, Triple Chocolate chip bars, Vanilla Caramel Chip bars, Vanilla Fudge Brownie sandwiches, and Chocolate Caramel Brownie sandwiches. I am anxious to try out all of the Breyers new Smooth & Dreamy selections! Good thing that these treats can be enjoyed all summer long!

Fold & Go Bouncer from Infantino

Having a good bouncer seat for your baby is such a help. It is nice to have a seat to put your baby in, and something that is both comfortable and enjoyable for your baby. I really like the new Infantino Fold & Go Bouncer. I really like that the Fold & Go Bouncer is mobile, and travels easily and compactly.
The Fold & Go Bouncer has two soft animals that attach to the toy activity bar. The Giraffe has a bell inside and the elephant has a side mirror for baby to see their reflection. I like that the toy activity bar is adjustable and removable on the Fold & Go. It is really simple to pull the bar out and easy to put back.
Infantino's Fold & Go Bouncer has extra padding on the foot area, which is over the battery compartment, and the bouncer comes with a padded headrest (which is detachable).
The battery compartment holds three AA batteries. This Bouncer plays 3 songs, water sounds, a heartbeat sound and gives a soothing vibration. There are two volumes (louder and quieter) so you have two options. The big plus to the Infantino Fold & Go is the easy way it closes and is stored. This is a great bouncer to take on the go, and pack with your baby's necessities. There is no need to take the covering off the bouncer, but just slide the safety switch, squeeze the top of the slide bar and pull the seat forward until the frame is flat. There are two adjustable hook straps to secure the seat together while storing or traveling with this bouncer. I also really appreciate that the Infantino bouncer is washable! The cover, headrest and the waist harness are all removable and washable. I recommend this bouncer for you if you are looking for a bouncer for easy travel and storage. The cost is affordable, and the value is definitely worth it.
I am a participant in a Mom Central campaign for Infantino and have received various Infantino products to as part of my participation. The opinions in this post are of my own, and not of the company or program. I am not compensated for my time or written review.

Rozoni Smart Taste Pasta & Contest!!

"Spaghetti Stud"
My kids love eating pasta, noodle meals. If they could, I am sure they would eat these kind of meals most always. Our family goes through a lot of pasta, not only is it a more affordable meal
to make for a large family, but it goes a long way. I have been searching the nutrition facts on the boxes of pasta, and it can be a challenge finding a pasta that offers lower calories and higher fiber, but still be affordable. Rozoni's Smart Taste is a great tasting pasta/noodle and it offers the higher fiber and lower calories, yet it isn't over priced. Our family has made the switch over to Smart Taste over other brands because we love the taste, it is lower calories, and it is in our budget. We have tried other brands in the past, and we really can't taste any difference between the brands, so it is an easy choice.

Here is what the website says:
"What's so special about RONZONI SMART TASTE? It's the first white pasta to be enriched with Fiber, Calcium and Vitamin D-- and lots of it. RONZONI SMART TASTE is an excellent source of Fiber and contains Calcium and Vitamin D equal to an eight-ounce glass of milk. Studies show that many diets are lacking in these three important nutrients. Plus, RONZONI SMART TASTE is lower in calories and fat than traditional pasta. That means RONZONI SMART TASTE is the same great taste -- the smart taste --your family loves but with greater nutritional value. RONZONI SMART TASTE Taste comes in seven delicious varieties:
Elbows
Rotini
Spaghetti
Thin Spaghetti
Penne Rigate
Angel Hair
Extra Wide Noodles
RONZONI SMART TASTE is part of New World Pasta, the leader in healthy pasta. Our family of brands consists of Ronzoni Healthy Harvest® and the New World Pasta classic white pasta brands of Ronzoni®, Creamette®, Prince®, American Beauty®, Skinner® and San Giorgio®. New World Pasta is also home to Light 'n Fluffy® egg noodles.
Learn more about New World Pasta."

Our family loves the Rozoni Smart Taste pasta! We made the Spaghetti noodles with Vodka cream sauce and grilled chicken, and it was delicious! Our kids happily ate their meal, as you can see in the photos, and they all wanted seconds. The family doesn't notice any difference in the taste of the pastas, and for the nutritional values of the Smart Taste, our family will eat Smart Taste!

With reviewing the Rozoni Smart Taste Pasta, I have a chance to enter the photo contest for bloggers!

Please Vote for my little Spaghetti Stud! (see picture at top) I have a chance to win the grand prize of $500 and a year’s supply of Smart Taste Pasta!
Voting will be open on June 14th at
http://www.Ronzonismarttaste.com/blogger and stay open until June 25th.
You can vote once per day, and I would be forever grateful if you could help me out.
Thanks so much!!
I wrote this review while participating in a campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Ronzoni and received products necessary to facilitate my candid review and photo contest entry. In addition, I received a gift card to thank me for taking the time to participate.

Infantino's Twist & Fold Gym

It can be hard finding an activity gym for your little one that is convenient, easy to assemble, easy to travel with, and affordable! I received an Infantino Twist and Fold Gym to review being an Infantio Test Drive Mom, and I think this is a great baby gym! I wish I would have had this play gym for my oldest when I first became a new mom. This is one of the easiest play mats for setting up, and folding it to put away/travel with. When setting up the Infantino Twist & Fold, you lay the mat on the floor, push down on the top down, twist and lock into place. When putting the Twist & Fold away, just unlock the top and twist, the mat will be easy to fold together for storage.
The colors are vibrant, there are rattles, musical animals, and an attachable mirror for baby to view in. There are four animals that hang from the arches. One animal plays music, one is a rattle, and two of them have a few attachments (like rings). I like that the Infantino's Twist and Fold gym offers two locations for you to attach the toys. You can place the toys lower (near the base) for the baby who is younger, and not reaching for toys quite yet, or you can place the toys higher up the arch if they are reaching for or hitting toys.
I think the movable pillow is great! I like that the pillow isn't positioned to just one spot on the mat. Parents, or babies can place the pillow wherever on the mat that they want to. Plus, there isn't any Velcro or attachments to the pillow, which can lesson the comfort while baby lays on it.

The top part, the arches, detaches from the mat, which makes it very convenient to machine wash this baby product. That is a huge bonus for parents, because babies can be a bit messy.I think the Infantino's Twist & Fold Gym is a great product and babies have much to look at, engage with and play with. This product encourages baby's reaching, kicking and stimulates the senses. I think parents will agree that the price is affordable and this product is great for home and travel. SRP $39.99

Mother's Cookies~ brings me back to my Grandma's!

Going to Grandma's house was such a fun time. We usually had treats at Grandma's that our mom didn't buy, and one of those was the Mother's Cookies~ Circus Animals. I loved these cookies! I thought the animals were so fun, and we love to see if we could recognize which animal it was. I remember separating the pink animals from the white, and then categorizing the animals from biggest to smallest, or the one that had the most strength. It was also fun to bite off their trunks, legs, or ears. I know that is a bit weird, but that is what I did.
Well, Mother's Cookies haven't been around for years, but now they are back! Seems like a lot of things that I grew up with is returning. I love that, because my kids get to experience some of the same products, items that I grew up loving. I was so excited to let my kids try out the Circus Cookies. They loved them. They like to have both colors given to them. My daughter prefers the pink ones, however. It is fun to talk about the animals when they enjoy their snack, and we talk about making a trip to the zoo to see the animals. They love the Mother's Cookies~ Circus Animals. I am excited to try out the other varieties, as well.
Another one of my favorite Mother's Cookies is the Iced Oatmeal! My Grandma would buy these cookies once in awhile, too...and I remember they didn't last long. I am so happy that the Mother's Cookies are back in the area and my family can enjoy them like I did as a child.
We were so excited to review for the Mother's Cookies, and our family happily recommends them to you! If you are in the Midwest area, you can find these delicious cookies in your stores.
Amazon storefront also carries Mother’s Cookies if they aren't available in stores near you: Amazon.com.
I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Mother’s Cookies and received two bags of cookies and a $20 Amazon gift certificate to facilitate my review.

Noodles & Company

I love trying out new restaurants, and I just recently went to one that hasn't been around that long: Noodles & Company. I found it to be a great sit down restaurant, with made-to-order meals, fast service, and family/kid friendly. The prices of their menu items were reasonable, and you can add meat and pick the size of your order. I like that they had several menu items to choose from, and most of their meals where filled with vegetables.
We took our family to Noodles & Company, and we had a great time! My Mother-in-Law, husband's aunt and Grandma came with us. We all thought the food and atmosphere were great!
Nathaniel ordered the big bowl of Chicken Noodle Soup. He said it was the best Chicken Noodle Soup he ever had. The soup had big noodles and pieces of chicken in it. It was a big serving, but Nathaniel ate all of it. Soup is a fun food for kids to eat, and when it is loaded with vegetables like carrots, they are getting a daily serving as needed.
Caleb loved the Macaroni and Cheese. We ordered it with meatballs, and it was the best Mac & Cheese I have ever tasted, too. The Macaroni and Cheese from Noodles & Company is made with Wisconsin Cheeses, and it is very creamy.
Cole had some of Caleb's Macaroni and Cheese, and he had some of Madelyn's Spaghetti and Meatballs. He ate really well, and enjoyed his food. Spaghetti sauce is a great way to blend up vegetables into a child's meal. I think it is a great way to load up on the vegetables without your child knowing they are eating them.
My husband's Grandma, Mother and Aunt each ordered a bowl of noodles as well. They all enjoyed their meals, and said that they were impressed with Noodles & Company. None of us had been there before, but I am sure all of us will return!
I ordered the Bangkok Curry which was very, very good! I added shrimp to my meal, as well! I love stir fry, and this menu item is very similar with great vegetables like broccoli, carrots, mushrooms and onions. I was very impressed with the taste of this scrumptious meal, and I thought the serving size was just right. I was very impressed with the speedy service, too. Noodles & Company makes their meals as ordered, so you always get fresh.
My husband ordered the Penne Rosa, and he loved it. The spicy and creamy tomato sauce was delicious. I tasted his meal, as well, and it was great! He added chicken to complete his bowl of noodles.
You can dine in or take your meal to go; either way, your sautéed-to-order meal is usually ready in about 5 minutes.
Cole tried a lemon wedge for the first time. He wasn't affected with the taste so much, and he had fun sucking on it.
One of the managers came to our table and asked if it was our first time there. She asked us if we were enjoying ourselves and if the food was good. We think that we had great customer service during our visit.
We had left overs so we asked for a take home box. I think the box is fun and innovative.

Trying to get my children to eat their vegetables is sometimes a challenge. I am so glad to see restaurants stepping up to include vegetables into the menu items, and in a way that isn't so noticeable.
Noodles & Company, a fast-casual restaurant chain with 240 locations, recognizes the importance of access to nutritious food served quickly and strives to provide customers with affordable meals prepared from fresh and healthy ingredients. In fact, Noodles & Company has 14 fresh vegetables on their menu, and what kid doesn't like pasta? A great alternative to fried and fatty fast food, Noodles & Company offers dishes loaded with fresh and in-season vegetables that the whole family can enjoy.
In honor of asparagus season, which runs from April to June in the U.S., Noodles & Company has introduced its new Asparagus & Lemon Linguine dish. Made with crisp, seasonal asparagus, snap peas, lemon juice, basil, red onions, mushrooms, and feta served over regular or whole wheat linguine, the dish highlights the flavor of this delicious green and helps incorporate a new vegetable into your kids' diet.
Noodles & Company also has created a Web site dedicated to this popular vegetable that includes tips on how to select asparagus, cook asparagus, a recipe for you to prepare at home and other fun ideas. We would love your help spreading the word about incorporating fresh veggies into a kid-favorite like pasta, specifically Noodles & Company's Asparagus & Lemon Linguine dish.
I highly recommend Noodles & Company! Our family had delicious food, that was served fresh and quick. I think it is a great alternative to greasy fast food. The cost is comparable to other fast food restaurants, however you get the family sit-down experience. We will be back to Noodles & Company to try more of their menu items.
I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Noodles and Company and received five Noodles & Company bowl cards to facilitate my review. Mom Central also sent me a thank-you gift certificate.

Don't Fret the Sweat with Unilever

Kids are pretty busy and on the go from the time they get up in the morning. They get ready for school, spend all day in the school building, go through gym class, and sometimes have after school sports. They come home, and sometimes have evening events going on. This is a very active lifestyle, and with their changing body going through puberty, the body odors can get extreme. We as parents are constantly pleading with our kids to shower everyday, and sometimes requesting a second shower. Many teenagers are resistant to showers at this age, for some reason, but it is so important to instill good hygiene habits early on in their life. Recent research shows that kids now enter puberty earlier than ever, leaving tweens increasingly self-conscious about their appearance and identity, and making it all the more important to start a dialogue with your child to provide them with the necessary support to keep their confidence high.
To ensure parents have the tools they need to maintain their tween's confidence during the difficult transition from child to teenager, Unilever – the maker of Degree, Dove and Suave deodorants – has aligned with a roster of community partners and assembled a panel of experts to develop the educational website and resource DontFretTheSweat.com. Tweens face many sweat-inducing moments, but Unilever hopes to show parents that they can talk to their tweens about how the right deodorant can keep them free from odor, embarrassment and discomfort along the way.
I have always tried to be very open with my communication between my children. Now with my oldest entering the tween years, I want to keep those lines of communication very open and honest. I have noticed, within the last year and a half, that his body is definitely changing. He is needing a daily shower, and sometimes I ask him to take two. I want him to practice good cleanliness hygiene and take care of himself. I am constantly reminding him to shower, brush teeth, brush hair, etc. I want him to feel good about himself, and with taking care of his body, he will feel better about himself. Peers can be pretty cruel with words, and helping our child make good choices may help them avoid ridicule about their bodies. My oldest son is eleven and a half. He has been using deodorant since he was nine years old. He has always been a little ahead of the curve with his growth and development. With noticing his body changing and body odors changing, we introduced deodorant to him. I was giving him a hug and noticed that the smells were more strong and his hair scents changed. With careful thinking, I told him his body was changing into manhood. With manhood comes new responsibilities, like using deodorant, a shaver, etc. He was pretty accepting of the new product to use, even though I still remind him to use it daily.
Recently, Unilever released the Tween Confidence Index, which suggests that tween confidence is short-lived but can be safe-guarded by maintaining strong communication between tweens and parents. With this and more resources available at DontFretTheSweat.com, Unilever hopes to show parents that they can talk to their tweens about how the right deodorant can keep them free from odor, embarrassment and discomfort along the way. Check out the website for some great tips and articles about your teen's changes and deodorants.

Sonicare for kids! A great toothbrush!!

Sometimes brushing teeth can be a task that kids simply want to avoid. Sometimes reminding your younger children to brush their teeth can be forgotten. However, having a Sonicare toothbrush makes brushing teeth a real fun time....at least for my (almost) 5 year old. Caleb got one of the Brand NEW Phillips Sonicare toothbrushes to review, and HE LOVES IT!!
When Caleb pushed the button to turn it on, he put it on his front teeth, and he giggled. He loved the brushing movement, and liked that it tickled. He moved the brush all around, and he also liked to keep it moving on the front teeth.
Then Caleb heard a little tune, and said, "what's that?" I told him that sound was to remind him to move the Sonicare toothbrush to the other teeth. He kept brushing while moving the brush around, and then the toothbrush chimed again.
The Sonicare toothbrush has a great gripped handle. Caleb could hold on to the toothbrush with ease, and if I had to help him out, it would be easy for me to hold on to it. The faceplate on the toothbrush comes with three different covers, so kids can customize how they want their toothbrush to look. Near the brush head, the handle is designed to be able to lay flat on a counter, so it doesn't roll. This way, kids can apply their own toothpaste to their brush.
The brush heads are designed for two age groups: ages 4 + is one, and ages 7+ is another. The Sonicare toothbrush comes with both brush heads. The brush head should be replaced every 3 months.
On the handle of the brush, there is a button near the bottom that is used for two power modes: low mode for ages 4 + and a high mode for 7 +. The Sonicare toothbrush is also designed with a built in timer. When the toothbrush is first used the timing is less than 2 minutes (which is what dentists recommend for proper teeth brushing). Over time, the toothbrush stays on longer and longer to build up to the 2 minutes.

Caleb gets so excited about brushing his teeth now, more so than he when he used his other toothbrush. It is great having the Sonicare toothbrush, because Caleb reminds me that he needs to brush his teeth. I am not so great at remembering to help my little kids with this. So, having the Sonicare in our home has been a great product to have. I love that the Sonicare promotes good teeth care, brushing, and is super kid friendly. I think when Caleb's brush head is fully used, I will let my oldest son try out the brush with the older designed brush head. We give the Sonicare toothbrush two thumbs up! I am sure I will be getting a Sonicare toothbrush for each of my kids!

Oh yeah, and the Sonicare toothbrush doesn't require batteries! That is right, it is rechargeable! I love that feature! We can plug in the charger, and put the toothbrush in the base. The toothbrush is always ready for use. The base holds the toothbrush handle, and stores the brush head. The brush head has a cover, as well.

Sonicare For Kids is now available at Wal-Marts nationwide, and is also available at Amazon.com and Target. The Sonicare has a 2 year warranty.

Healthy Choice tastes great, and is good for you!

I am trying to eat more healthy, and I would like to shed some of my weight, OK...a lot of my excess. I used to be on Weight Watchers, and I did a super job being strict with what I put in my mouth. Now, two years later...went through pregnancy and a baby...I need to get off the new weight gain.
I just recently reviewed two entrees from Healthy Choice and Mom Central. I got two very tasty choices, and I am thrilled that these two options are healthy, and Weight Watcher friendly! I got these two: Tortellini Primavera Parmesan and Creamy Basil Pesto. Both of the entrees were delicious but my favorite of the two was the Creamy Basil Pesto (plus, my toddler and preschooler loved it). I really liked that these entrees were just enough to satisfy a hunger, and were low in points (for Weight Watchers). The Healthy Choice All Naturals are higher in fiber and lower in fat which is a great combination for losing weight.
I was telling my husband that measuring, counting, calculating and planning Weight Watcher friendly meals was a challenging task for me. I have four children, and three of them are four years old. So, life is a bit busy. I told him I should stock our freezer with the Healthy Choice meals and entrees to make my planning a little easier. I know that frozen meals may cost a bit more than making a larger meal, but for ease of mind and having the calculations done for me...makes my life as a mom a lot easier!

I highly recommend the Healthy Choice All Natural Entrees! I am anxious to try out some of the other Healthy Choice products available.

The beginning of this year, Healthy Choice introduced 11 new entrées to its Café Steamers, All Natural Entrées, and Select Entrées product lines. Nutrient-rich and preservative-free, the new entrées provide even more options for those busy days when you don't have time to prepare a meal from scratch but still want something that's delicious AND good for you. I am happy to say, Healthy Choice is the only major brand in its category FDA-approved to call its products "healthy." This means each meal must have low fat, low saturated fat, controlled sodium and 10% of the daily value of three beneficial nutrients. For more information about these new entrées, visit HealthyChoice.com.

You can check out the Healthy Choice website for a store near you, too! That is a great feature for their website!

The View on ABC

Hey, Guess what I get to do? I get to be a Brand Ambassador for the Hit show: The View on ABC. I was sent an e-mail the end of last week that I was in on the scoop for the show, so...really I should have put up some information over the weekend about this fun talk show. It was a crazy busy weekend, as well as a busy week last week. SO, I am getting up the information to you now. Before becoming an ambassador, I had never watched The View, and actually we don't have very many channels for television. However, I love that I can watch this talk show online to see what all the buzz is about. I have listened to a few shows that the ladies on the view have covered. It is interesting and diverse. I love watching the interaction between the ladies and hearing them discuss the topic, and how they feel. So far, I have enjoyed watching the ladies. I don't always agree, but it sure brings up great issues to chat about.

The View is a daytime talk show featuring five dynamic women from different ages, experiences and backgrounds: Barbara Walters, Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sherri Shepherd and Elisabeth Hasselbeck. The View women discuss the latest events, people and more and is broadcast live weekdays from New York (11:00 a.m.-12:00 noon, ET; CLOSED-CAPTIONED; broadcast in stereo; TV-14).

ABC News correspondent Barbara Walters, appears on average three days a week. Whoopi Goldberg (actress), Joy Behar (comedian), Sherri Shepherd (actress/comedian) and designer and former Survivor: The Australian Outback participant Elisabeth Hasselbeck.

The View consists of hot topics in the news, the best experts in their field, celebrity interviews and general entertainment. The program celebrated its 2000th show on February 2, 2006, and is now in its 13th season on the ABC Television Network.

Today on THE VIEW, was the day after the Oscars!! It Isn’t over till the co-hosts have spoken! Guest co-host Vanessa Williams (“ABC’s Ugly Betty”); Day of “Hot Topics”; co-host Sherri Shepherd will Skype live from Hollywood post-Academy Awards and share her Oscar experience; Chris Cuomo breaks down crimes in the headlines. First time musical guests – Lady Antebellum performs!

Did you watch it? What did you think?? Please share your thoughts in the comments!

Here is what is in store for the rest of this week on the view:

Saying "Thanks a Million" with Banquet meals!

Banquet meals (frozen dinners) are great for on the go, something quick and easy, to bring to work, or just to enjoy. When I was little, I ate many of the chicken pot pies...and it was a treat! I think that Banquet meals and entrées taste great, and they are super easy to prepare. I really like the big bag of chicken nuggets or strips (and so do my kids).

Banquet has been producing frozen home dinners for over 50 years, and they have been feeding so many people! Banquet dinners are great to keep in the freezer for those times when everyone is gone, and you need to make something for yourself. Sandwiches don't seem all that appealing, and fast food can be pricey. Banquet meals are affordable, and good tasting.

Banquet meals also come in handy when life takes a busy road, and you really don't have the time to prepare a big meal...For nights like these, it helps to have some great rescue meals on hand, like Banquet frozen entrées. Dinner that the whole family will enjoy is on the table in minutes. Banquet offers more than enough single-serve dinner varieties so each family member is covered – whether you have kids who are picky eaters and only like Macaroni & Cheese or Chicken Fingers, or adults who prefer more sophisticated options like Chicken Pasta Marinara, Sweet and Sour Chicken or Creamy Pasta Carbonara. I like that Banquet can give you options to meet the likes and tastes of many family members.

As a way of saying "Thanks a Million" to their loyal customers over all these years, Banquet is giving away more than $1 million worth of redeemable cash prizes this February through April. February 8, Banquet frozen dinner meals came out with the "Thanks a Million" logo on the box. Each of these specially-marked packages will contain a special game piece, either one of over 16,000 redeemable cash prizes worth anywhere from $10 to $100,000, or a Banquet coupon. What's better than that? A quick dinner on the table in minutes and a chance to find the equivalent of the "Willy Wonka" golden ticket! That would make my day!! So, go to your local grocery store, or a superstore, and pick up a few Banquet meals!

OxiClean Max Force Power Paks and OxiClean Max Force Gel Stick Pre-Treater

Being a mom of a pre-teen, a pre-schooler, a toddler and a baby, we go through a LOT of laundry. The laundry room is always busy with our washer and dryers running, and our kids really "wear" their clothing. Our pre-teen is pretty good on his clothes, but he is nearing those puberty years, and stains under the arms may increase and be tough to get out. Our baby, is the biggest stainer of clothing currently, and he has made cleaning a challenge.
I was excited to try out a brand new product from OxiClean (coming out on shelves this month)~ OxiClean Max Force Power Paks and OxiClean Max Force Gel Stick Pre-treater.
I was very impressed with these two items. First of all, you should all know that I am a busy mom and my husband is very busy as well. We don't always stay on top of putting a stain remover on our kid's clothing before throwing them in the wash machine. Plus, my husband has been doing a good share of the laundry (since I hate it) and he doesn't think of pre-treating clothing that has stains. So, when I threw an OxiClean Power Pak in the load of laundry, I was amazed at how much it helped our clothes. The whites and colors became more vibrant after the load was finished. I like how easy it was to add the packet of the Power Pak...no mess, no drips, and no powders. All you do is throw the Power Pak in the drum of the washer, and your clothes will look so much better!

The Gel Stick Pre-Treater works best on tough stains – even ones that set-in on clothes for a week! Just rub the gel into the fabric and let it sit for a few minutes before throwing it into a normal load of laundry. I was happy to see that the Get Stick Pre-Treater even got blood out of a shirt! That product gets my thumbs up!

Each of these new products contains OxiClean's "4-in-1 stain fighting power" so whether grease, oil, blood, or dirt, appears on clothing, you know that dabbing with OxiClean will leave the garment looking new again after just one wash.

I am happy to promote these two products and I think that they would be great products to keep on hand to use with your laundry!

FedEx delivery! Great option...

December is one of the busiest times of the year for shipping and mailing packages. Christmastime is especially busy, and FedEx has great service, competitive prices and hand delivers your parcels. I have had packages delivered from FedEx and they were delivered with care. I know I can trust FedEx with even the most fragile package.

This Holiday season, FedEx offers ways to save time and money with discounts that make FedEx one of the cheapest options this December. For example, when you sign-up on fedex.com, you can save up to 16% on FedEx Express services and 8% on FedEx Ground and Home Delivery. And, by visiting a FedEx Office location, shipping with FedEx Ground costs 10% less than with UPS.

I think that FedEx really does a great job with their delivery and that their prices are fair. You are sending off special gifts to your family and friends, and you want guarantees on your service....FedEx delivers!

For those awkward sizes, fragile items, or time-strapped packers, FedEx Office professionals can pack and ship your holiday packages for you or give you tips on how to minimize the size and weight of a package to reduce shipping costs at any of the locations nationwide. FedEx Office also offers customized holiday cards, stationery and personalized 2010 calendars in just minutes either online or in-store.

With FedEx Office Print Online services, you can print holiday newsletters and cards to a nearby center of your choice or have them delivered to your friends and family hassle-free.

Munchkin Math

Counting money can be so fun for kids, and sometimes it can be tricky for them to learn the different coins, monetary values, and how to make change. Munchkin Math DVD's are a great way to introduce your child(ren) to counting money. I was sent a Counting Money! DVD from Munchkin Math to review, and my kids enjoyed the interactive DVD. The video has kids in it, and whenever kids are in videos, it draws my kid's attention. Wendy Miller, creator of Munchkin Math, is the hostess on this DVD. Wendy teaches catchy phrases, songs, and hand movements to help kids retain the information about dollars and cents. Counting Money! covers the value of each coin and math concepts. One of the fun things kids get to do in the DVD is build the "Money Worm" with counting the money. Munchkin Math DVD's use auditory, visual and kinesthetic styles to help children learn and hopefully retain what they learn. I thought this DVD was simplistic, and geared more toward young children. This may be a great home school product to use, with teaching/introducing money.
Munchkin Math has other DVD titles, too: Telling Time & Shapes. SRP$19.99.

Disney On Ice: Princess Classics~ AMAZING show!!

What an amazing show!! My dream to see Disney on Ice came true! It was well worth the wait! However, I highly suggest you make every effort to go see this amazing show...and bring your kids! Seriously, Disney on Ice is a spectacular show...with the dazzling lights, amazing performers, eye catching props, breathtaking moments. My family and I completely enjoyed this amazing, fun-family event! Being a Feld Family Activator, I was able to attend this show, and bring my family. I was also given special coupon codes that I shared with you earlier this month, and let you all know about my experiences. I am honored to be an FFA, and forever grateful!
We started the evening off with a meet & greet...first stop: Meeting Cinderella!

Madelyn was just tickled pink to meet Cinderella. She was such a beautiful princess! What a great way to start off our fun evening. I think Madelyn was completely in awe over the whole event. She was so impressed with Cinderella.
After getting a photo with Cinderella, we went in to a room with the other FFA members and had a great selection of treats (fit for a princess~or a prince), received big coloring books (Terry enjoyed the coloring), and got some great Princess glasses. The kids had a great time, and the food was very good.
Then, we went to our amazing seats! We were in Row 2 at the Xcel Center. I couldn't believe how close we were! I was ecstatic! I am just so thankful for this special opportunity~ especially for Christmas! It was fun to share this with my family.
Minnie and Minnie Mouse started the show off. Minnie and Mickey were so cute~ Disney's most beloved characters!
The setting for the show was spectacular. There was one main palace, but with each Princess/Prince scene it transformed to fit the character. The first ones to take the floor was Princess Jasmine and Prince Ali~ Aladdin! I was so impressed with the elephant: Abu (monkey) transformed to an elephant. There was two skaters inside this massive animal, and Aladdin came out riding on his back. Very exciting! The Genie was very animated, and even went out into the audience and sat with a little girl.
Next in the show was Princess Aurora~ Sleeping Beauty. I love how Disney on Ice gave glimpses into each character's story. I loved watching the ice skating moves. So much talent on the ice!
Heigh-Ho...next was Snow White. The Dwarfs were a lot of fun to watch. They brought out a table where they ate, and next it was transformed into the bed that Snow White was laid down on. I think such brilliance was put into the production of Disney On Ice: Princess Classics!
I love this shot of Snow White twirling. Maddie said that she wants to do that....go around 'n around on the ice.

Later on in the show, all the Princesses and their Princes came out in their beautiful dresses just before the intermission. I was starting to feel sad, thinking this was the end of the show. I did not want it to end yet. I was entirely enjoying the show! To my luck, it was just an intermission.

After intermission, Minnie and Mickey came out again. Another famous Disney character joined them: Goofy. Caleb told me that he was excited to see Goofy, and I didn't think he would be at the show~ thankfully he was. Goofy was on a mission: he carried the glass slipper, and an important message from the king.
That's right, that last part of the show was about Cinderella. Cinderella, her ugly step-sisters, and her step mother were entertaining. The step mother and her daughters had fun costumes and masks.
Cinderella had just had her dress torn off of her from her step sisters, of which the mice had worked so hard on. She had her hopes to attend the ball, but without a dress...or a dream, what is she to do.
Thanks to her fairy godmother, Cinderella will be able to attend the ball. I thought it was great how the fairy godmother came in above our heads.
Happily, Cinderella skates with her true love. However, the spell only lasts until midnight...
At the end of the show, all the Princesses were in stunning evening gowns of cream and gold colors. The Princes' matched their gowns and they both looked amazing! Mullan's gown was my favorite.
Mickey and Minnie were at the ball, too...even dressed in their evening gowns and suits.
I loved the dance/skate. It was so fun to see them all coupled up. I think that the Disney on Ice performers resembled the real Disney Princesses and Princes. I couldn't even tell you who was my favorite. I do know that even after a week, I still smile over the experience that I had.
Some of the other special guests in this show were Beauty (Belle), Mullan, and Ariel (the Little Mermaid). I loved Ariel's hair, and I am still trying to guess if it was the performer's real hair. :) OH, and the Little Mermaid performance with Sebastian and the underwater world was great! The use of black lights, neon colors, and fish-like creatures~ you have to experience it!
The ending was amazing, and I loved how all the couples were on the stairs. With this show was fire, blasts, flying carpet rides, back flips, poisonous apples, and more. It is a show to bring the entire family to. I was beyond impressed, and it is a show I will never forget!

Thank you Disney on Ice for all the hard work, dedication, creativity, hours of intense practice, and all you do to bring joy and excitement to all! Our family had a wonderful time, and we are thrilled to have spent the evening with you! We look forward to future shows...some even coming next year: Disney Live! Mickey's Magic Show & Disney on Ice: Mickey and Minnie's Magical Journey.
