A great DVD/Music for your little ones...provided from Sara Hickman

I just love the DVD that I got to review of Big Bird, Little Bird, by Sara Hickman. She is a very talented singer and songwriter. Her voice is very soothing, and her songs are fun. Watching this DVD with my kids is fun because we talk about how important and special they are to me. Sara's songs talk about what wonderful children we have in the words of her songs. Her DVD is perfect to put in after supper time when you are settling your kids down for the night. The animations in the Big Bird, Little Bird DVD are simplistic and easy for small children to follow. The flowers, clouds, and trees dance and sway to the music and singing.

"Big Bird, Little Bird" features 13 soothing songs for children ages newborn to five. The songs explain what a family tree is, what the goop in your eye is, and all things bright and beautiful in a musical and visual art setting.
The songs included on the DVD are “It’s Alright (acapella), “A Slice of Heaven,” “Goop’s In It,” “Big Bird, Little Bird,” “Lily,” “This Heart,” “You Are My Sunshine,” “The Family Tree (You and Me),” “All Things Bright and Beautiful,” “We Are Each Other’s Angels” and “It’s Alright.”(with strings attached).

The DVD also includes 15 short parenting tips – hosted by Hickman, a certified parenting instructor – offering ideas on what to expect as they enter the glorious challenge that is their newborn’s life. Tips include “Nursing,” “First Hello,” “Introduce Your Baby,” “Being Polite,” “Being on the Same Level,” “No-No to Pacifiers,” “G.E.M.s,” “Feeling Frustrated,” “Early to Bed, Early to Rise,” Consistency is Key,” “It’s a Whole Other World,” “Going to the Store,” “Family Ritual” and “Rap Up."

I recommend this DVD to your family! We enjoy it, and think that Sara Hickman created a great DVD for families with small children. Check out Sara's site HERE.

Felt Tales (review and giveaway)

Here is a great product from Babalu that really encourages imagination, story telling, creativity, and role play. I love the FeltTales story boards that Babalu, Inc. has. FeltTales story boards come with approximately 19 pieces of felt (shapes, animals, people, etc.) that kids can tell a story with. I think these sets are super, and all of my kids enjoy them.
The felt story boards are made from safe, soft and colorful felt. I think the art work on the felt pieces is amazing, and the pieces are very durable (my kids tested them well). My kids got the Busy Day at the Farm FeltTales story board. The animals are so cute, and I love that there is a boy and girl "farmer." There is a pail for milking the cow, and there is a tractor to plow the fields. My kids liked pretending to be on the farm. I thought that the FeltTales were a great resource for home schooling and it prompts great educational/learning time. We talked a lot about how a farm functions and works. I highly recommend the FeltTales!
Each FeltTales story board has a different theme (dinosaurs, ballerina, Pirate, Farm, etc.). On the back of the story boards you will find a story as an example, but kids soon realize it is fun to come up with their own stories (at least mine did).
I have a heart for felt boards because I just think that kids can really let their imaginations go in story telling. I think kids can also share what is going on in their hearts with story telling, too, because they can "act out" how they are feeling.
This is playtime at its best,” said Babalu founder Blair Everett. “The reason our FeltTales are bestsellers year after year is because children truly love playing with them, and parents love to have their children to play with them.” I agree whole-heartedly!
With money being tight for many families this year, you will be happy to know that most of the company's toys are under $25, and a large number are priced under $20! That is great value for the price! Babalu Inc., offers so many classic toys like building blocks, and felt storyboards. I love this website's selection!
I like that the FeltTales story board can travel with us, too. I only wish that the FeltTales came with a little storage case that attached to the board. We just put our pieces in a plastic bag.

FeltTales are geared toward ages 3 and up, and have a SRP$19.95. Since its introduction in 2006, FeltTales have been praised by award agencies. Honors include two iParenting Media Awards, Canadian Toy Testing Council 3 Stars, Creative Child Seal of Excellence and Preferred Choice Awards, Dr. Toy Best Vacation Toy Award and a National Parenting Center Seal of Approval. Also joining the Babalu lineup are classic toys from WJ Fantasy, a company that Babalu recently acquired. WJ Fantasy has been specializing in nesting blocks, building blocks, advent calendars and books for more than 25 years.

Fresh Organics Review & Giveaway

I am all about using natural, kid-friendly, organic products on my kids...especially since most of them struggle with sensitivities= eczema. I was able to review for a great company, Fresh Organic Company, and was sent a bottle of the Shampoo and Body Wash and a bottle of their Bubble Bath. I love the fresh smell of the Shampoo and Body Wash, it reminded me of a spa. Just a clean, fresh scent. The Shampoo and Body wash is hypo-allergenic, safe on my kid's skin, and is multi-use. I love that this is for all over wash time. The soap lathered well, and kept a fun style in my daughter's hair. We like to style hair with shampoo at bath time:

My daughter loved the products from Fresh Organics. We used the Bubble Bath and it made fun bubbles. The Bubble bath product was very runny, and I am used to thicker bubble bath products...and that just surprised me. However, I loved the smells of the bubble bath, and that it is hypo-allergenic. No bad reactions on my precious tot's skin! That is a huge bonus!
I think that the Shampoo & Body Wash and the Bubble Bath are valued right at $7.99 per bottle. I think that these bottles will last long, and I am protecting my kid's skin by using safe, organic bath products. My kids and I give Fresh Organics two thumbs up! I noticed that Fresh Organics has products for kids and adults! Being a sufferer of Eczema, I think I should check into their products for me, as well.

Thanks to a program from Family Review Network and Fresh Organic Baby, they have provided the products for review & giveaway. I was not compensated in any way except for the complimentary product.

Alphabotz Flash Cards (great for education): Review and Giveaway!

Being a home educator, I am always trying to find great products to encourage learning, is fun and creative for teaching/learning, and my kids will enjoy it. I was sent a box of Alphabotz flashcards to review, and I found these cards colorful, creative, fun, FULL of learning opportunities, and ways to teach (that is fun, not boring).
The Alphabotz flashcards have a robot character on the top of each card. On top of the robot's head is a picture of an item. The picture of the robot is to install a memory trigger for your children to help them remember a certain sound or letter. With 26 letters of the alphabet, there are 46 cards to the Alphabotz cards. Not only do the Alphabotz flash cards introduce the alphabet, there are also different phonetic sounds displayed.
These flash cards are perfect for me, considering Caleb is currently a "pre-schooler," and Madelyn isn't too far behind. They are learning together, essentially, with being home. They love playing with the cards and saying what is on them. Caleb is really liking to sound out his letters, know what letter makes which words, and so on. So the Alphabot Flash cards are a hit, and they are working to help him learn. He will eventually put together that the letters/sounds will belong to the words he is speaking...therefore promoting reading. That is the intent of these cards.
Caleb is learning how to spell and write his name, and we have been "finding the letters" of his name in the Alphabotz cards.
The Alphabotz Superphonic Decoder Cards were just named to Dr. Toy's 100 Best Children's Products of 2009 list! I think that this award is well deserved. I recommend these flashcards for your younger child/preschooler. Older kids can have fun with these cards, too...(included in the box is a list of games to play).
Enter to win!
The company has offered to sponsor a giveaway for my readers! This giveaway is open to residents of the USA (bloggers/non-bloggers), and will end on November 25th, 2009. TO ENTER: go to the website and find out something you find interesting about the cards or company. For an additional entry, you can "become a friend of Alphabotz on Facebook". You can come back once each day throughout the contest and enter again by just leaving a friendly comment relevant to the contest, but you MUST do the first entry.

Sleepy Bear from Sleepy Wrap

I love the Sleepy Wrap for "wearing" my babies! I have found it to be the most comfortable wrap for me and my babies while I carry them around! Baby wearing is such a great way to not only provide comfort and protection to your babies and children, it is a great way to free up your hands for other tasks. I fully agree that babies are a lot happier when they are close to their parents after birth, so when you carry them in a wrap/sling/pouch, they are way more content. Sleepy Wrap carries one of the best wraps, in my opinion. Their fabric is stretchy, and fits most all body shapes. The colors that they offer for their wraps are multi-colored, so moms and dads can both feel comfortable wearing them. I love that I can wear my babies in the Sleepy Wrap, have a happy/content baby, and "save" my back from pains with the distribution of weight with the wrap. Well, Sleepy Wrap /NAP, Inc. recently introduced The Sleepy Bear, their very first stuffed toy to help promote baby wearing. I love this new little addition, and so do my children:
Madelyn loves the little Sleepy Bear. This adorable, cream-colored and 100% organic-filled bear is so soft and cuddly. The bear is wearing an Organic Khaki Sleepy Wrap and is baby wearing the baby bear. You can get the same Organic Khaki Sleepy Wrap from the Sleepy Wrap website for your baby wearing, too. It is an adorable stuffed animal, and I love that it promotes baby wearing. The Sleepy Bear is the first stuffed toy to promote babywearing! Plus, I love that this bear is safe with material it is made and filled with. I don't have to worry about my youngest getting his hands on a choking hazard while playing with the Sleepy Bear either, because it isn't made with any buttons or snaps. The Sleepy Bear's eyes, nose, and mouth are all stitched on so that my baby's little hands won’t have anything to pull off. That is reassuring!
Madelyn gives lots of kisses and hugs to her new bear. She loves the little baby inside the wrap, too. I wore Madelyn in many pouches/wraps/slings and loved "wearing" her! The Sleepy Wrap is our favorite wrap, especially for a long day at the zoo. She loves being held, cuddled and carried, so she is a big-time promoter of baby wearing, too!
The Sleepy Bear has found a good home here. I highly recommend this adorable and cuddly bear! Our children can see the baby wearing idea, and know that it is a great thing! Plus, they can see that their Sleepy Bear loves to wear it's baby, too!

Nowali Moccasins for kids (giveaway)

It can be such a challenge to keep socks or shoes on babies and toddlers. It is good to keep something on their feet (sometimes) especially if you are out of the house. I was sent an adorable set of moccasins that I absolutely LOVE!! Nowali Moccasins are great for keeping those feet warm, and keeping your baby/toddler's feet covered. Nowali created a sock and shoe in one! I really like this concept!

Nowali Moccasins are made in Sweden (for which I am partial because of my ancestry), and made with quality. The stitching on the moccasins are still hand sewn after 50 years! That is pure quality, and made with love. The moccasins are made with a soft leather sole, so they are very flexible for mobility. I think that the bottom of the moccasin is made so well, too: made so that little walkers won't fall easily.

Norwali Moccasins are available in so many different designs, and you can get moccasins for 6 months - 6 years. There are a few designs available for 8 and 10 year olds, and yes, there are even some for adults.
Cole just loves his Nowali moccasins, and I am so happy he has them!
My son loves wearing them, and I like that his little feet stay warm. As you can see in the pictures, he is totally enamored with them! I didn't have any problem putting the moccasins on, and he didn't seem to kick them off either...even with them a bit big on him. The moccasins have a double elastic at the ankle, so that helps it stay on.
Would you like to win a pair of these adorable moccasins? Nowali has offered to sponsor a giveaway to my readers! You will love these great moccasins!! Here are the contest rules: Go to the Nowali website and pick out which moccasins you would most like to win from among the colors and sizes available on the website. More chances to win: blog this contest, add my button to your page, subscribe to sassyfrazz, follow me on twitter, visiting/commenting everyday, commenting on other posts, etc. Just leave separate comments for each "extra credit" you do, so you can get the credit. This contest is open to USA addresses, and will end on June 22, 2009.

I was also given a coupon code: HAPPYFEET, which gives 10% off + free shipping for orders over $40!! Great deal! This is good thru 12/31.

Cyber Patrol: protection for your family

Internet safety is something every parent desires for their children while they are online. The Internet world is filled with messages, topics, pictures, sites, that we would rather not expose our children to.
Cyber Patrol Parental Controls is a great product that you can install on your computer to help protect your child from the online dangers that lurk.
I got to review this product from Fuel My Blog, and I am happy that I was able to try this product out for my home computer. I like how the Cyber Patrol has so many features. I can control how, when and how long people use the computer. This is a great feature because my son can use the computer, like for gaming, and I can set a time limit. I like that because I can let him play, and his time on the computer doesn't get too long.
I can also check status of the usage online, modify the settings and have options for what gets filtered from online. I can customize each of the computer users in our home, so we each have our own settings to work with. I can set the settings to child, young teen, mature teen or adult with blocking porn and other tasteless sites, content and images. I also like that I can just simply omit certain sites/programs for my child.
My son isn't quite old enough to use the chatting features from websites yet, but Cyber Patrol Parental Controls offers ways to block IM, chat, games or home finance programs, and it will prevent program downloads that can harm your PC!
There are so many features that the Cyber Patrol helps with your online usage! It will protect your personal information, give detailed reports on websites visited/time/length there, and will block certain phrases that online "bullies" use to draw kids in.
I highly recommend the Cyber Patrol Parental Controls for your family's safety and children's online exposure. For one year, you can have online safety (for up to 3 computers) for only $39.95! Check out Cyber Patrol for options for your family!

Thank you Cyber Patrol and Fuel my Blog for this review!
