Walmart’s Thanksgiving Dinner for Eight could fit into an affordable price range of $20! With Christmas right around the corner, I think Walmart will be a great place to buy our groceries with our budget in mind. I enjoyed looking over the wonderful information found on the Holiday Meals site for Walmart. The website has great recipes, and options to make your dollar stretch. One recipe that I am excited to try for the Walmart site is: Pumpkin Roll Cake with Warm Cinnamon Caramel Sauce! Yum, this looks so tastey, and the presentation is mouth watering! I usually make Pumpkin bars with the cream cheese frosting for our family gatherings, but trying something new could be fun, and great tasting. Walmart teamed up with the Food Network's Melissa d'Arabians. She is talented~ and you can even watch a video of her talking about food ideas.
I have a fun contest for you! Enter to win a Walmart gift card for $30! To enter: share some of your own favorite memories or money-saving tips. some great recipes from the Food Network’s Melissa d’Arabians.
This contest is open to bloggers and non-bloggers of the United States. Contest is open until December 16th, 2009.
**For extra chances you can: blog this contest, add my button to your site, subscribe to my blog, twitter and/or become a fan on facebook, and/or visit everyday and add something else you found on the Walmart website (you didn't know they sold). Lots of chances to win! Don't forget to put the extra comments for the "extra" work. Good luck!**
I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Walmart. In addition, I received a Walmart gift certificate to thank me for taking the time to participate and two to offer as a giveaway.
Favorite money-saving tip: shopping at Walmart!

My money saving tip is to try to plan for a few vegetarian dishes each week. We do things like lentil tacos, chickpea curries, and other dishes that really save money and allow us to splurge on one really nice meal out or at home each week or so. One of my favorite items to stock up on at Walmart is their spicy chili beans -- those work so well in the crockpot as part of a 3-bean chili! Thank you for this opportunity! ceevegnashville [at] gmail [dot] com
ReplyDeleteMoney saving tip - use the envelope system to budget cash. Keep note of what you spend on a notepad beside your envelope. Bake a lot! It's cheaper than cooking extravagant treats and starters and sides. Make magnificent muffins and breads a lot. Flour is cheap.

My money saving tip is to save leftovers. I like to use the freezer bags that come with the little gadget to suck the extra air out. I divide the leftovers in little 1 person serving sizes. That way, if I don't feel like cooking, each person can grab whatever they want from the freezer stash. Much better than throwing leftovers away or having them go bad in the fridge.

ReplyDeleteMy Best tip involves buying gas at the gas pump. We all know how Gas prices and our economy in general has spun out of control but if you're mindful and thrifty you may well take advantage by doing this next time your filling up your vehicles gas tank.
ReplyDeleteYou can get medium grade(Plus) gasoline for about $2.60 cheaper if you fill 1/2 your tank with Premium grade(Super) and 1/2 your tank with Low grade(Regular)which will make (Medium grade)-Plus if you do so. It may take a minute longer to do this but if you’re saving near $3 I’d say better the money in your pocket than in the Oil companies pocket!
This was told on a news media show I listen to so I’m assuming its accurate and true.

My money saving tip is to take a pair of scissors to the yard and take lots of clippings for holiday decorating. If you don't have any evergreens, Christmas tree lots have trimmings that they sell cheaply or even give away. With a few supermarket flowers, you can have arrangements that would cost hundreds of dollars at the florist.
